First u check the cable of the printer to system connected properly from both end if not then connect properly , after that problem not solved then change the cable and try if the printer is working then the old cable is faulty , if the printer not ok then uninstall the printer driver from system and restart the system then after restarting the system reinstall the printer driver properly by giving right port, after installing restsrt the system . After restarting the system check by giving a print

It prints only half a page.... how can i fix that???

Does the print fade out or is the printed page complete, just cropped down? If it is fading out then it is the cartridges running dry, or refilled using the incorrect ink. If it is printing the entire document, just smaller, then under printer properties you can set the page size. (control panel - printers and faxes - right click your printer and select printing preferences) I hope this helps Regards GM

My HP 6100 series all in one wants to align cartridge

This document explains the different results obtained when using or not using the Automatic Reduction (or Auto Reduction) Feature. The following issues usually result when the Automatic Reduction feature is not set correctly:
  • Faxes printing too small
  • Faxes printing on more than one page
  • A blank page ejecting between each printed fax page
This feature can be turned ON (the default) or OFF from the Advanced Fax Features menu. The two main purposes of the Auto Reduction feature
  • Fits a received fax page onto the paper size loaded in the paper tray and selected in the paper size setting of the Basic Fax Setup. For example; if letter size paper is loaded in the paper tray and selected in the fax settings and a legal size document is received, each page will be reduced and printed on one letter sized paper.
  • Allows the addition of the fax header margin at the top of every printed fax without extending the fax onto another page. The fax header is printed at the top of every fax received with identifying information about the fax sender. Since this increases the overall page length, the page must be reduced to fit onto one page. Auto reduction slightly shrinks the fax as it is received so the entire page will print on one piece of paper even though a top margin is allowed for the fax header.

Oficejet v40xi only prints partial documents then "disconnects"

XP the virus magnet where anything can happen bad, and DOES !
why run 15year old OS.? why not upgrade.?
The Lenovo stinkpad. (was IBM)
why not move the printer to another PC, ? to prove printers bad
is that hard?
even plugged in to any LAPTOP, say with W10

v40xi , as old as 2003, is yours that old?
was even run on old windows 98 back when.
but has HP support up to windows 8.1
try printer on win7 win 8.
is the way to do this, using the correct driver. from HP.com

Printer prints partial page and then stops

We have had the same problem. I have found that if I close all windows not being used on the computer, then try to print the document again the entire document prints. This happens on an older computer we have that doesn't have alot of RAM.
