Keyboaard stops talking to cpu

Sometimes when I am typing, the keyboard stops talking to the cpu and stops functionings altogether.  I must be hitting a key or combination of keys to make this happen but have no information on what or how it happens.  The only way I can get it to reset is to unplug the usb outlet and then replug it.  Can you help me please.

Re: Keyboaard stops talking to cpu

It's either the batteries if it's wireless or your keyboard is failing. A new wired one is fairly cheap. You may have to replace it.

ESource USB keyboard. Why does it type duplicate letters?

Have you installed any (included) software for the keyboard? If you haven't, install the software and see if it works properly. If you have the software installed already, try to uninstall it and see if it works without it. If neither of that doesn't work, uninstall software and drivers altogether (via Device Manager) and restart the PC. The computer should recognise the keyboard by itself. After this: check that there are no driver conflicts (no yellow exclamation marks) in Device Manager.

Cordless Keybaord - Some keys not functioning

Could be interference from a wireless device using the same frequency. Locate any other wireless keyboard/mice from the vacinity and try it again. Also, push the connect button on the bottom of the keyboard and see if that helps. Also make sure the base station of the keyboard is close enough to the keyboard/mouse.

Cant type in same key more than once!

If you have access to another keyboard, try using it. Sometimes a contact in a PS2, or USB cable can break, causing a variety of odd problems, one which you have experienced.

A key (which one?) changes the letters all keys type

You're hitting SHIFT and CTRL -- which changes the keyboard input method, i.e., for French keyboard, or for DVORAK keyboard, or for Scandinavian keyboard.

Access CONTROL PANEL, and use REGIONAL settings to "uninstall" all keyboard-layouts that you _never_ use.

Keyboard types things that I don't type or opens new windows

Your hand is probably just hitting the CTRL key accidentally when you type; I had the same problem and pried off the CTRL key and have had no problems since.
