Hi, sorry to bother you again, but somehow, once I restarted the computer, nothing worked again. Furthermore, whenever I turn on the computer, it says that VAIO SAT SURVEY EXE stopped working and VAIO CARE stopped working...maybe this has something to do with the intranet and internet problem. Thank you so much for your help!

Going to assume you are using IE as your browser. Ok open the browser and i want you to click on Tools on the top of the browser. a drop down menu comes down and now select Internet Options. Now a Internet Option box opens with lots of tabs on top. OK select the one that says Connections. OK at the bottom it has a button that says LAN Settings. OK uncheck everything and make everything clear. Hit OK. This should take you back to the Connections tab and now I want you to hit Setup and go through the wizard.

I can't log in Facebook because it is saying that

Using Internet Explorer? Then you'll need to add FaceBook to your trusted site list. Internet Explorer assigns all websites to one of four security zones: Internet, Local intranet, Trusted sites, or Restricted sites.
  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Navigate to FaceBook.comClick the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
  3. Click the Security tab, and then click a security zone (Local intranet, Trusted sites, or Restricted sites).
  4. Click Sites.
  5. If you clicked Local intranet in step 4, click Advanced.
  6. The website should be shown in the Add this website to the zone field. Click Add. If the site is not a secure site (HTTPS), clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box.
  7. Click Close, and then click OK

Not able to apply the proxy settings for internet explorer

Hi,

Open Microsoft Internet Explorer and from the 'Tools' menu select 'Internet Options'. from the 'tools' menu.

Select the 'Connections' tab.

Select 'LAN Settings'. In the 'Proxy server' section select 'Use a proxy server for LAN ..., enter your proxy address, and enter port 8080. 'Bypass proxy server for local addresses' is selected if you are accessing network resources through a intranet. When complete, select OK twice.
NOTE:

After you apply your settings to the web browser test your Internet connection by attempting to access an external Web site such as http://www.google.com. Test more than one Web site. If you are unable to access external Internet resources, verify the spelling of your entries. If spelling is correct, contact your company's helpdesk to find out if there is a problem with the corporate proxy server.

What is a default browser? when i open hotmail it says hotmail default.

The default browser is the program that Windows uses by default when you open web pages or websites. If you've never changed it before than Internet Explorer is your default, so whenever you click on an internet link (from an email, in a Word document, in a PDF, etc...) than Internet Explorer opens that page. If you install another browser (Firefox, Chrome, Opera....) then it may ask if you if you want to set it as default when you install it. Why Hotmail is asking/talking about a default I'm not certain. If you have the desire to use a browser other than internet explorer than you should set it as your default. The procedure for that will var depending on your operating system.

Internet Explorer 7 does not connect

Try doing an update from the Microsoft website.
If you have, do you have an antivirus or firewall running? Turn off one at a time until you can see your browser.
I would recommend Firefox as well. Just for added security.

Unable to connect remotely to dvr unit

I'm presuming you are using Internet Explorer. You may need to change your browser's security settings to solve this problem.

Using Internet Explorer, click on TOOLS, Internet Options, Security, Local Intranet, then move your slider all the way down to Low and click Apply.
