Hello jonesb37,

If there's enough of the wire left on the plug, you can simply solder and heat shrink or use a crimp connector to put the wire back together. If it's cut too close to the plug, then your best solution is to not use that particular wire at all. Connect directly to the appropriate pin or use a pair of "quick disconnects".

Hope this helps.

Wiring pigtail input speed sensor on my 2000 sonata. The new plug came with three white wires but the wires from car are different colors. color wiring diagram ?

the connector is the same on both the old harness and the new pigtail. As long as you orientate the connectors the same way you just match up the wires. let me try to explain it this way. If you hold the old connector so the part that holds the connector to the sensor is facing up. Hold the new connector exactly the same way. cut the left wire on both and connect the new connector wire to the old wiring harness. Then cut the center wire and connect them. then cut the right wire and connect. No wiring diagram needed.

One thing I will add is to stagger the new connections. Meaning do nut cut them at the place. Cut one wire then cut the next about an inch or so further and then cut the next about an inch or so further than that. This will prevent the new connections from potentially shorting to each other and will keep the harness from becoming really bulky with all the but connectors in the same location.

Cut the red wire underneath the dash near fuse box? Is that the area that I look for red wire to disconnect the car alarm on the 1994 Mazda 929?

Cutting a wire on a car that already has a security issue won't fix the problem. The car has to be running and/or on before you cut any wires. It is called severed wire defaults. the computer loses communications with security and goes to default, which lets the car run. Cutting wires when the car is not running or on, only makes things worse for someone to fix. And to my knowledge... No vehicles has a red wire for data. Which is the wire to cut.

How do I put a light switch on a extetion cord

You want a light switch on extension cord.
What kind of light switch do you have? You posted under GFCI device which is totally different than ordinary wall switch.
And what type of extension cord?
Add a comment with more information.

If ordinary light switch is installed on 3-wire outdoor extension cord:
Slice open the side of cord and you see 3 wires: black, white and green.
Cut the black wire in half and connect each end to brass screw on light switch.

If ordinary light switch is install on indoor 2-wire extension cord.
Look at plug and notice there is a wide blade and narrow blade.
Narrow blade is hot. You want the wire connected to narrow blade.
Cut that wire in half, but do not cut other wire.
Connect each end of wire to brass screw on light switch

If you want to install line switch onto indoor 2-wire extension cord:
Narrow blade is connected to hot wire.
Cut that wire in half, but do not cut other wire.
Open line switch.
Connect each end of black wire to brass screw. OR if no screws, then place cut wire in open grooves.
Tuck other wire into groove and then reassemble switch.

How do I install the standard mini inline cord switch. I am a novice.

The cord has two wires.
Use exacto knife or utility knife with sharp blade, slice the wire down the middle for about 2 inches.
Be careful and don't cut into the copper wire.
Now the two wires are separated, like each lane of a road going around a tree.
Cut one wire completely through. Leave the other wire continuous and uncut.
Which of the two wires do you cut?
Go back to the plug and notice that plug has two prongs. One prong is narrower. This prong carries voltage to the lamp, so technically and officially that is the wire to cut.
However you can unofficially cut either wire and it will work fine.
Open mini switch and there are two halves and one screw that tightens two halves together.

Notice inside the mini switch, there are two sharp brass points.
These brass points will penetrate through the wire insulation and into the copper when you reassemble the mini-switch.
So place your continuous wire in the open mini-switch. and place your two cut wires in place where the brass points will push down, you may have to trim one of the cut wires a bit shorter.
Then put the two mini-switch halves together and squeeze them together between fingers, and then tighten the screw.
That should do it.

My kawasaki zx7r 1997 cuts out when i turn the handle bars on full lock when idleing, been told it might be wiring worn by the ignition or it might be that i need to re-tune my carbs or jets. will either of...

try pulling on the wiring to the ignition switch and kill switch with the handle bars straight, if the engine cuts out then you have a broken or damaged wire in the loom, cut the wiring loom open and pull on the wires one at a time untill it cuts out, the wire you pull when it cuts out will be the one you need to repair/ replace

My amp is working but everytime it cuts off and i got to cut off my car and cut it back on. Also when i have the car off and i have my radio on it stays on. But when i am driving like 1 or 2 mins it cuts...

Check your ground wire and make sure it is bolted down into a solid ground. Do not use a factory ground make your own. Every system that has subwoofers has a little blue wire called a remote wire. The deck sends a signal to the amp thru this wire letting it know it has been powered on. It could be that there is a short in this wire, either from the deck side (where the wires are connected) or it could be also be detiorated insulation on the wire. pretty inexpensive to replace. In my opinion it sounds like you have a shotty ground wire. If you don't have this grab yourself a nice foot of 4 guage wire at your local HI-Fi shop. This should fix your issue if not let me know and we will keep troubleshooting

It won't cut nails?

They probably will a few times, but every time you cut something as hard as piano wire, you put a nick in the cutting edge. It requires extremely hard jaws (like carbide) to properly cut this wire.
