Does it have an external speaker plugged in the back? If so try unplugging it see if the internal speaker works, if it doesnt have an external speaker plugged in try one, maybe the internal speaker went bad from moisture.
It's VERY possible that the Tuner has a "backlit" display ( Like many of the 1980-90's Yamahas)...You'll need to replace a couple of small bulbs inside
Try pressing clear (CL) then type some numbers and see if they appear on the screen. If not, you probably have keyboard failure. If they work, press clear again and try pressing 1 then CLK# button.

Sounds like the timmer in the control module has frozen and will not advance. It's one module for the whole display. I sometimes tap the module with a plastic screwdriver witch may releace it but it will do it again. I sorry to say but it's time for a repair man. I do't have the writing space to tell the procedure (if it is the problem) - Sorry, not good news
