Question about Lands Phones
My phone won't ring with incoming calls and the answering machine won't pick up ,but I can call out. I have a recent problem with my landline telephone: the phone doesn't ring, but callers report hearing the ring tone indicating the call is connected. However, I can still call out. The problem occurred with a cordless Uniden phone with answering machine, but to test that the problem wasn't the phone, I switched it out with an old-style push-button phone that doesn't require power from a wall outlet, without success. I also changed out the cord connecting to the phone base to the old-school phone and new cordless, without success. At each change, calls would not ring through, but I could call out. One additional strangeness. If I call in via my cell phone, and wait for the tone indicating the home phone is ringing, then answer the home phone, the call connects!!!
I just bought a new Uniden DECT 6.0 phone and had a similar problem. It wouldn't ring when plugged into my Linksys voip router, but my old 5.8 GHz did ring. It would get a dialtone and make calls, but when called via an outside line, it would appear as if it was ringing. If I picked up during this "silent ring," it would answer and take the call. It wasn't a ringer volume issue. I called tech support, they said on the main headset, unplug the battery, then unplug power from the base, then unplug the phone cord from the base. Wait 15-30s. Plug the phone cord, then power, then reinstall the battery. Press the End button on the phone. Put the phone on the base for 15-30s. Pick up the phone. Press and hold the Find button on the base. Do this Find thing 3 times. Put the phone back on the base. Wait 10-15 minutes. Then try calling it to see if it rings. Worked for me, finally got it to ring before I decided to return it.

Move the phone to a different outlet and see if that solves your problem.

SOURCE: uniden 5.8Ghz phone.
You need to reset the main base unit. Unplug the power from the back of the base. While the power is disconnected, press and hold the delete key while reconnecting the power. Wait for a long beep tone. When the display shows 88 or P, press play button one time. If you have a phone without an answering machine, disconnect the power from the back of the base, press and hold find hs button while reconnecting power.

Thanks for using FixYa. I think you have stored more than 100 Caller ID messages and hence the caller ID is not showing on Uniden Tru8888. In the following cases the caller ID will not be shown-
If you answer a call before the Caller ID message is received (for example, before the second ring), the Caller ID message will not appear.
When the call is received via a telephone company that does not offer Caller ID service, the caller’s phone number and name does not appear. (This includes some international calls.)
When the call is via a private branch exchange (PBX), the caller's phone number and name may not appear.
You may receive any one of the following messages:
When a private name is received; Private Name
When a private number is received; Private Number
When a unknown name is received; Unknown Name
When a unknown number is received; Unknown Number
When invalid data is received; Incomplete Data
The Caller ID list stores information for incoming calls - even unanswered calls. You can store up to 100 Caller ID messages and phonebook entries (including Speed Dials) for each handset and the base. You can view the Caller ID list through the handset or base during a call or when the phone is in standby mode.
Memory locations for Caller ID messages and Phonebook entries (including Speed Dials) are common, you can store up to all 100 entries for each handset and the base. Caller ID messages are not stored when you have 100 phonebook entries. When you have stored a total of 100 phonebook entries and Caller ID messages, the oldest Caller ID message is overwritten.
Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Tips for a great answer:

If you have an answering machine connected to the same
line as the fax, set the answering machine to answer incoming calls before the
printer does. Increase the number of rings by a factor of 3 over the answering
machine. For example, if the answering machine is set to pick up on 4 rings,
set the printer to pick up on 7 rings.
If you have a voicemail feature in the same line as the fax, you may subscribe from your phone service provider for a distinctive ring pattern feature. You can program your printer to have a distinctive ring pattern and phone number for incoming faxes.
