How to extend speaker cables of Philips MX6050D DVD Home Theater

I have big Home theater room and I'm currently using Philips MX6050D DVD Home theater system in it. Couple of speaker wires needs to be extended in order to place them in correct position in the room. Is there a solution for extending the speaker wires for Philips MX6050D?

Go down to your local RadioShack or any place that sells wire of any sorts (heck, even Walmart might carry it now) and ask them for speaker wire. I'm not sure what the impedance of this particular model is, but you should be able to find it printed on the back of the speakers, or in your user's manual. This guide will help you to identify what size speaker wires you need, that way when you go in looking for speaker wire, you'll at least sound like you know what you're doing.

There are several options for these hook-up depending on your TV outputs. So I refer you to the owners manual for the Phillips system. Read through and study the section which shows connections. I think it's page 18.

My Philips Dvd home theater system HTS3100, how can i connect to my tv set

Hello

1. First things first, READ the Instruction Manual, I know most of you guys out there hate reading the instruction manuals but every system is different, so I'll generalize this article for an average system you can find at a retail store today.

2. Make sure you have the right cables to connect your TV to your Home Theater System, now days the best connection is called "HDMI" (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) this cable uses a digital signal to transfer both video and audio while giving you the best quality possible. But please make sure your Home Theater System has the "HDMI" as an input option. If it does not, you might have to resort to a analog connection such as "Component Cables" which will provide you with a High-Definition connection but with analog quality.

3. Now if you are using a current TV and a current Home Theater System and your system is able to use the "HDMI" cable, connection to said devices will be pretty easy, just hook one end of the "HDMI" cable to the "HDMI" input on the back of the TV, and the other end of the "HDMI" to the "HDMI" output on the back of the Home Theater System. Turn your devices on and make sure your input/outputs are configured for "HDMI" usage and vola! You should now be able to see and hear everything your heart desires!

4. Organization is key, after you have checked your connections and everything is working the way you want it to, utilize the cable/wire loom to organize your cables and use the zip ties to secure them in place, not too tight though, if you want to change things around in the future it's easier to cut the zip ties if you have enough room between the cable and the zip tie.

THANK YOU

Connecting new LED TV and home theater to multiple components

the easiest way to get signal to your HT-Z320 is to run the audio cables from your cable or sat box to the input on your theater system...for the dvd either run HDMI to the LED TV or component (whatever it supports) the Wii system can be plugged into any AV -IN on the LED tv (if you want to use the Wii on the theater system you will need to extend your RED AND WHITE audio signal cables to the input on your theater system.

Hope this helps.

If it uses a simple terminal clip (similar to a speaker connection) then extra speaker wire or lamp cord thats laying around works beautifully. But you could always visit a Radio Shack to get the proper stuff.
