NEC VT47 Multimedia Projector

Status light blinking red (by 5 users)

posted by lgc999 on Oct 23, 2007

The status light is blinking red every .5 second at .5 second intervals for 6 cycles. The power light is solid orange. Per NEC manual, it says to wait a minute and restart. It just continues the same error condition. I replaced the lamp, same problem occurs. I tried a known good lamp from another projector, same problem occurs. Any ideas?

Never could fix that issue, scrapped the projector.

I'm having a very similar problem. the projector turns off and gives me the lamp error sequence. I replaced the lamp and same thing. One thing I have noticed is that if I dont have an input, just screen saver, it stays on. Once I change the input, it will go out within five minutes. This leads me to believe it is a board problem but i have no idea how to fix.

I have the same problem.
Tried pressing on help button on remote for 10 seconds as directed.
Also turning off the project, disconnecting the power for 30 sec to clear the memory. Lamp is still not coming on

Anyone have any luck finding a solution?

Same problem here

I have the same exact problem! I haven't tried a new lamp, but after what you said I don't think I'll order one.

The manual does say that the lamp shouldn't need to be replaced. The lamp light would blink in that case.

So I don't know what the error could be....

If it is a lamp error try this:
When the lamp exceeds 2100 hoursof service, the projector cannot turn on and the manu is not displayed. Do the following:
For VT670/VT470 Press the help button on the remote control for a minimum of ten seconds.

For VT570/VT47 Press and hold the power and the exit buttons on the remote control simultaneously for a minimum of ten seconds. When the lamp time clock is reset to zero, the lamp indicator goes out. Hope this helps! :]
