Hi, I have a Canon Powershot A700 digital camera and I am facing a problem with it. The 'Mode Switch' button, which changes the mode from Shoot/Record mode to Play/View mode is not working....

If you have the manual for this camera turn to page 15.
This tells you how to switch between Shooting Mode and Playback Mode.
This is achieved simply by pressing the DISP button.
This button is located below and to the left of the FUNC/SET button.
Pressing DISP repeatedly toggles between Shooting Mode and Playback Mode.
I would suggest you try these steps with your Mode Switch in both positions alternately.

Alright I am new to this camera. I need to know how to view taken photos and how to shoot video. I have a Vivitar ViviCam X327 10.1 MP Digital Camera. Thanks:)

Press the Mode button to toggle between the three camera modes. One of them is Playback, marked by a right-pointing triangle. Full details are in the "Playback Mode" section of the manual, beginning on page 30.

Press the Mode button to get to the Video mode, marked by a movie camera. Press the shutter release button to begin recording, press it again to stop. Full details are in the "Video Mode" section of the manual, beginning on page 27.

If you need a manual, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at

I almost have the same problem.
My camera automatically switches between playback and camera mode quickly only for a while, then it remains still in the playback. When it remains in playback,if I toggle the playback/camera switch few times,it may work for some shots but again the problem begins. Dvr4-alert full screen playback

That's because this is a quad. It compresses all 4 video feeds into 1 file. When you play it back, it decompresses the video and shows you each camera. Playback through this unit is the only way to see 1 camera at a time.
To be able to copy 1 camera shot to a DVD, this is what you need to do: You need to have a TV with Video in and Video out jacks.  Connect the Quad to the TV Video in jack and connect the TV Video out jack to your DVD Video in jack. Playback a single camera shot on the quad to the TV and hit record on your DVD. - The DVD will record whatever is shown on the TV.

Fuji Finepix F401 - cannot switch to playback mode

There are no remedial suggestions I am sorry to say. These devices are made in such a way that a 'repair' would not be possible only replacement if under warranty- which this one longer is. 4 years is a good life and technology has moved on now so much that a new camera is going to be the only option.

SLIDESHOW function

You can play the images in your camera on a TV or save them to videotape by connecting the camera with the bundled Audio/Video cable. Power up the camera in the PLAYBACK Mode, press the OK/MENU button to open the menu and using the arrow keys toggle up to begin the SLIDESHOW. You can even change the playback format in the MODE MENU. Press the OK/MENU button and using the right arrow key select the MODE MENU. Toggle down to SETUP, toggle right to enter the SETUP MENU and toggle up once to PLAYBACK SETUP. When you toggle right you will be offered four playback options: NORMAL, SLIDE, FADER and ZOOM. When selected you will get the following effects: NORMAL - Each image instantaneously replaces the previous image. SLIDE - The images are sequenced by sliding from right to left. FADER - The images are sequenced via a lap dissolve. ZOOM - The images are sequenced by zooming in to black and zooming out from black.
