Not long at all, maybe 20 minutes.

Enjoy! Anticipation is the gppd part. Try not to get any brine in it. That ruins it. We used to make individual servings with cc' ration cans in vietnam. The tough part was conning the mess sarge out of a block of ice and the salt. The mix was easy to get, It came in big cans 'B'ration. Not used much so copping a can or two wasn't a problem. Good luck and enjoy.

There are some variables when making homemade ice cream. When you get your mix ready and put it in the machine to freeze it, first add about 2 -3 inches of water to the bottom of your bucket. Scoop in ice till the bucket is about 1/2 full. Add about 2/3 of a cup of ice cream salt on top of the ice. Add more ice to just below the lid and then add about a half cup of salt. Make sure the weep hole on your bucket stays clear so the excess water can drain off. Add salt about every other time you add ice after this. Mine normally takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 45 minutes to finish. When the motor stops, immediately unplug it to prevent damage to the motor or other parts. Remove the motor from the maker carefully so as not to get the lid loose which would cause the salt brine to get in your ice cream mix. Carefully pull the canister up then set back in the ice and carefully pour some water over the lid to wash off salt and brine. Always make sure not to pour it where the dasher comes through the lid or it will get salt inside. Hopefully you will have a great experience and as much pleasure making homemade ice cream as I do.

As you are talking about the maker then hardly it will take 35 to 45 minutes to get into the real shape or structure so that you can enjoy the delicious ice cream.
Yeah, if you are not using any kind of maker then it will take more then the above time. Ingredients should be added in a right amount for delicious ice cream, that's really essential.

Here you can check here what are the ingredients used to make a delicious ice cream.
