Leaking water line

My water line is leaking from behind the dispenser and dripping out under the door. I have taken the door off but cannot figure out how to access the water line. I think this has to be done from the dispenser somehow. If anyone knows how to access this so i can replace the line i would be grateful. Thanks I have the exact same problem: the water line is leaking from under the freezer door and it is dripping out under the door. I also have taken the door off but cannot figure out how to access the water line. I called the ONLY LG service in town (i.e. St. Louis, MO) and I was told that I had to replace the ENTIRE DOOR. Over $330 for the door plus labor ... over $500. This sounds crazy, even the service guy asked me I can live w/o that. Has anyone experience the same problem? Did you replace the door yourself? Where did you get the door at? Thanks, Miguel

SOURCE: Water tank inside fridge for water dispenser leaking

peah, I had a couple of these tanks leak. I think they had an issue with this. The last one I had they had a kit where the substitued coiled tubing with 2 john guest fittings to replace the tank. This solved the problem. The part number I have for the tank is 4838jj1003a, you can get it at http://www3.sears.com/ for 17.95. I don't know if they will send you the tank or kit. You can inquire. SOURCE: Water freezing on the tray section under the freezer drawer.

sounds like you have a clogged defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere, pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials works awesome, after you clear it and all water drain down tube wrap a piece of solid copper wirearound the heater( black calrod heater right above the drain trough) and stick it in the whole maybe an inch or so. now everythime the heater comes on to defrost it will prevent the hole from freezing over

SOURCE: I need a replacement water line for my LG

If the water is leaking from the freezer door hinge the door would have to be replaced as the waterline in the door is foamed in place.

If the leak is from the back where the plastic lines are they are replaceable.

Contact LG @ 1 800 243-0000 and give the exact location of the bad waterline since there a couple on the unit.

SOURCE: My icemaker fills the tray but when the water

My ice maker would not return to a level position after dumping out the ice. When the water turned on to refill the ice tray, it would run off the tilted ice tray and into the ice basket thus freezing all the ice cubes in the basket together. To remove the icemaker, there are two screws that hold the icemaker to the top of the freezer. Turn off the icemaker. Remove the left screw and loosen the right screw by removing the screw on the left. Slide the icemaker outward and it should come loose. Unplug the power connector from the icemaker to the freezer. The ice tray can be removed from the icemaker by gently pulling the tray to the right and the slot it goes into on the left side of the icemaker to the left. Once the tray is out of the assembly, inspect the round plastic shaft on the left side of the ice tray. Mine had two flat spots that were worn into the plastic from use. I used a dremel tool with a round barrel sanding disk at the tools lowest speed to remove the flat spots and decrease the overall diameter of the shaft which stopped the tray from sticking. Reassemble the ice tray in the icemaker.

Water leaking from door when cold water dispenser being used

Hello Frank,
The line that runs from under the freezer door and connects to the dispenser is cracked or the connector is cracked. By removing the lower hinge cover ya should be able to see where the line connects to the door and see if it seems to be cracked and leaking their,if that connector is good then the line inside of the door is leaking..in some cases depending on brand the line is easily replacable without having to dis-assamble the entire door

The freezer door leaks water from the water/ice dispenser. The dispenser fills up with water. Items in the freezer door almost seem as if they never freeze. All items in the door are much less frozen...

Leaky dispenser-------
Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

Two possibilities:
1. A cracked plastic tube. These will leak whenever there's a call for water - either the chilled water dispenser, or re-filling the icemaker tray (two seperate tubes). Pay particular attention to anywhere the tubes are clamped to the chassis; anywhere they're routed near or under the refrigeration unit; and near the solenoid valve - especially if there's a tight loop in the tube there.
2. A bad (leaking) connection where one of the tubes exits the water valve. Again, these will leak whenever the valve is activated.

Those plastic tubes don't last forever. I've replaced many of them for the same symptoms. They're known to simply deteriorate with age.
Manuf's make good money selling replacement tubing kits.

IWater does not dispense.

Good day,
The hum is normal. That's the water valve in the rear of the machine being activated.
Lots of plumbing to be checked.
Water line starts at the dispensing outlet in the door, and runs thru the door to the bottom of the hinged side.
From there it goes to the filter,
'From there it travels under the machine into the cooling reservoir mounted back of the fresh food section behind the crispers.
From there it travels back out and runs to the water solenoid mounted on the back rear of the machine.
One of these lines or their fittings has failed.
It's a look-see repair.

Also, there is a remote chance the water line running inside the freezer door froze, causing this problem, and would require the machine be shut down (unplugged) and the door be allowed to defrost completely.

Water is leaking under my refrigerator

1)--In some refrigerators, the water from the defrost cycle is intentionally directed down the back wall of the refrigerator, where it then flows to the bottom of the refrigerator compartment and out to a small drain - usually located beneath one of the drawers at the bottom of the refrigerator. If the drain becomes clogged or blocked, the water may back up. To fix this problem, clear the obstruction. 2)--If the refrigerator is equipped with a water dispenser on the freezer door, check if the water line to the dispenser is leaking. Also, check the drip pan to be sure it isn?t out of place, broken or cracked.

Something leaking from dispenser frame

You can remove the frame around the dispenser by pulling it gently and then you access to the screws that hold the dispenser in place. Could be a spillage behind the frame. Good Luck.
