For the most part, XboxLive runs smoothly and I can connect with most of my friends for any games that I play. But I consistently have issues connecting to certain friends, even though my NAT type is supposedly set to open. I'm thinking that configuring the router to UPnP would take care of any connection problems, if it's possible for the WVR-1310, but I have no idea where to start; or if I have to specifically open ports, which I also don't know the first thing about doing. Can someone please help?

1. Update any drivers or software for the D-Link router.
2. Update the firmware of the router (see page 38 of the user manual for instructions to do this). -- you can download the manual at http://www.dlink.com/products/?tab=3&pid=WBR-1310&rev=WBR-1310 if you dont have it.
Your friend need to clear her wireless connection so she can connect to yours. Look at the lower right corner on her screen and see the flashing TV screens for the wireless connection. Right click on the icon and click repair. She might have to reboot and then she should see your wireless network and connect as you do,
Fix your router again. If the wifi is fine, you just have to let the nintendo search for the wireless network and connect to it. You don't have to do anything on the router to let your nintendo to connect.
