Shut the lever to outside resiculation air.
Put the fan on slow,
Clean the filter and the temp probe in front of it

Most models have a metal drip collector below the evaporator that has a drain hole in it where the defrosted water goes into before it goes down to the drip trap and then out the drain hose. If the area around the drain hole has cracks, or was punctured during servicing, the drain water can get underneath the tray and run out beside and around the drip tray and never gets into the drain tube and freeze in that location. A careful inspection of this area will reveal any issues.

Hello again Vicki, you can read my first post to you on type. Now for where and how. Put suitable container under radiator drain valve. Start to drain old antifreeze, you can also loosen radiator cap for faster drain, but make sure antifreeze doesn't start to spill all over your driveway or garage floor. When radiator and engine are mostly drained, I would recommend to change the thermostat. Follow the top radiator hose down to the engine. This is where you'll find the thermostat. Remove the attaching bolts and remove thermostat.If you wish to flush your engine,you can put water down the thermostat hole as well as the radiator cap hole, or you can do a fancy flush. Shut drain below, reinstall thermostat housing without thermostat, fill radiator with fancy flush cleaning solution and water replace radiator cap ,run for time stated on can of flush. Now you go back to where I began and start the draining again. Dispose off antifreeze correctly it is dangerous to animals if they ingest. Close drain,and fill engine with antifreeze thru thermostat housing, when almost to top install new thermostat and gasket. fill radiator almost to top, start engine, open inside heater and let engine warm to operating temperature. At this time the antifreeze level will drop, because thermostat will open, and you can fill some more .This should eliminate any possible air bubbles. Fill your coolant tank. I would like to know how you make out. GOOD LUCK.

Hi,

The most common cause of frost and ice buildup on a dehumidifier is because the unit is operating in temperatures that are too cold. Many dehumidifiers are not equipped to run at temperatures below 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
To fix this problem, Position the dehumidifier in an area where there is at least one foot of clearance around the unit in order to allow for proper air circulation during its operation. Close all windows, doors and other outside openings to make sure your unit isn't attempting to remove moisture from areas outside of the immediate room. Determine the temperature of the room by checking a nearby thermostat or by using a hand-held thermometer.

Check the filter for dirt and buildup. Unplug the unit from the electrical source and check the filter by opening the filter compartment. If the filter is dirty, it will restrict airflow through the unit and lead to freezing. Soleus recommends lightly vacuuming the surface of the filter to remove dirt. The filter also can be washed in warm water if it is extremely dirty. Once clean, place the filter back in its compartment. Allow for the ice to melt and then restart your dehumidifier.

Hi, my air conditioner works fine but if I leave it on to long it will start blowing out warm air. Then when I turn it off, it sounds like its still on. And I have to wait a whole day before it blows cool...


Sounds like the unit is icing up.

Window air conditioners are not usually of sufficient capacity to keep a room much below 74°F. If not allowed to cycle off occasionally during the day, the evaporator (cold radiator) will ice-over and prevent air from passing through it.

The way most are constructed, the water is designed to drain to the bottom near the compressor. The heat of the compressor and air provided by the condenser fan motor are intended to evaporator the condensate.

Try using a higher setting on the unit and see if that helps. It needs to be able to shut-down once in a while. If you have the option, set the fan switch to 'on' instead of 'auto'. This keeps the inside fan motor blowing all the time, with the compressor cycling as needed. The moving air will make the conditioned space more comfortable with a higher temperature setting.

Replacing the thermostate


drain out coolant in a drain until below thermostat level follow radiator hose to engine cylinder block to thermostat housing.remove thermostat housing than remove thermostat.replace with a new o-ring on thermostat before installing new thermostat.make sure thermostat housing surface and engine block surface clean.before installing new thermostat.

Follow the upper radiator hose to the outlet elbow (the waterneck!) and it is located under it:

Removal & Installation
  1. Drain the radiator until the coolant level is below the thermostat level (below the level of the intake manifold).
CAUTION When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted by the ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or several years old.

  1. Remove the water outlet elbow assembly from the engine. Remove the thermostat from inside the elbow.
  2. Install new thermostat in the reverse order of removal, making sure the spring side is inserted into the elbow. Clean the gasket surfaces on the water outlet elbow and the intake manifold. Use a new gasket when installing the elbow to the manifold. On later models the thermostat housing may have been sealed with RTV sealant. If so, place a 1/8 inch bead of RTV sealer all around the thermostat housing sealing surface on the intake manifold and install the housing while it is still wet. Refill the radiator to approximately 21/2 inch below the filler neck.
If the thermostat is equipped with a pin hole, be sure to install pin side facing upwards.

Does the product a/c have a drain hole?


Air conditioners of your type have tiny passages that allow the water (if clean) to go to the back of the unit where a splash ring on the fan blade whips the water onto the hot condenser coil, eliminating the condensate outdoors and subcooling the refigerant in the condenser in doing so.
If you have water inside and its level or slight tilt back , then you need to clean it up or forget it!
