Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Slim (PSP-2000) Console
This Is kinda weird i recently bought a psp refurbished from gamestop for the most part it was like sword and its master untill after a few sessions i turned it on and low and behold I was greeted by a psychadelic swirl AKA Hippy Vision i turn it off and its boots up just fine @ first i hoped it was just a burp but it happend once more since then and more recently a few times actually it did the standard power up hear the noise but blank black screen. again all i have to do is restart it and it works fine but im starting to worry that im holding a ticking timebomb and that eventually during a grueling grind fest on one of my fave RPGS its gonna die and im gonna have to return to gamestop and get screwed cause i couldn't afford the warranties they refuse to honor anyways sad thing is @150 after tax for a refurb PSP which sad to say if i did buy the warranty would roughly be about the price of a shiny new 3000 . Sorry For the Rant But if you could shine some light on this matter it would be a great help and it would give me at least and idea of how much time i have to make my move or just count the 150 as a lost
Hippy vision? HA HA! Well with gamestop if it's been past your 30 days to exchange your almost screwed...
Here is one solution if you want to try it.
Go back to game stop and buy a used psp that is identical to the one you have now. Take it home and with an exacto knife carefully remove the serial number on both PSPs and swap them out.
Return the crappy one and finsh your grueling RPG battle thus saving the world from doom due to a faulty PSP screen.
Not the most honest solution, but when you spen that kind of money....
Word of advice as well, NEVER BUY GAME STOP REFURBISHED. Refurbished means that when someone traded it, the thing was broken and gamestop attempted to fix it, and as you can see by your purchase they are not the best at it. A used system is tested to work right there in the store and is only sold if it plays and functions properly.
hope this helps.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
