Dear Sanyte1226,
Double Check that all handsets are registered, and make sure that you don't have to many phones connected to the jacks throughout your home. If all fail, very slowly, make sure the phone is on speaker, and slowly move the telephone port into the jack SLOWLY like slower than slow motion. If you here clicking, keep pushing it in slowly until you here a dial tone. I know this has happened to me before.
Best of luck, The Writer.

There are two possible answers to this problem. The first thing is to check on the cordless phones, is a 2 way switch, one setting is for DP=Dial pulse (setting for old rotary phones) 2nd setting is TT= Touch Tone. I would guess that the setting should be set to TT on both cordless phones for touchtone.
Second thing to do is to plug in the base unit of your cordless phone to a jack that currently has a landline phone plugged into it that works and test again. If cordless phone works OK then go back to the original jack that didn't work and reverse the wires in the jack: that is what is known as a "polarity" issue.

GE portable phone model # 26928GE1-D No dial tone-installed new battery still no tone

That isn't a whole lot to work with. Get a working phone and take the cord out of the base of the GE and plug it into the working phone.
If the working phone gets a dial tone, look into the modular receptical on the GE base and see if the contact wires aren't out of place.
If you don't get a dial tone on the working phone, try changing the connection cord between the phone and the wall. Also look for the same problem in the wall receptical as discribed above for the GE base.

No dial tone

Please disconnect your cordless phones from telephone jacks throughout the home. The "line in use" is say that you have a short on the line, or a phone off the hook. So disconnect lines, then replug 1 corded phone in to check for dial tone. If working, continue to plug in 1 phone at a time(rechecking working one each time) to find the equipment that is causing you heartache.

Uniden cordless phone. No dial tone.

Hi peddler65, did you plug your phone into another area to see if there is a dial tone. Then if not call the phone company or find the D-mark (where your dial tone ) comes into your home and put a jack on that and plug a phone in with all phones in the house unplugged.

Thanks.

Then if not call the phone company or find the D-mark (where your dial tone ) comes into your home and put a jack on that and plug a phone in with all phones in the house unpluged. Let me know this is a very general comment about dial tone so if you can get more specific that would be great.

Dial tone is OK, but can't dial out
• Make sure the tone/pulse setting is programmed
correctly.
TONE/PULSE DIALING
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in TALK mode).
2. Use the CID/VOL left (-) or right (+) arrow button to
scroll to 1TONE or 2PULSE, or use the touch tone
pad on the handset to enter the desired setting. For
example, to choose TONE dialing, press the number 1
key. 1TONE is the default setting.
3. Press flash/program to store selection. You will hear a
confirmation tone.

TONE/PULSE DIALING This adjustment allows you to select tone (touch-tone) or pulse (rotary) mode dialing. The phone is pre-set for touch-tone use. To set to tone or pulse dialing: 1. Press and hold the program button for two seconds. You will hear a beep. 2. Press the *tone button to select Tone Dialing or press #pause to select Pulse Dialing. 3. Press the program button again. Plug out the power from the main charger and then plug in again. It needs to reset after they have gone dead. Immediately you can lift one of them off the charger and you will hear your dial tone.
