Question about Epson TM-T88III Thermal Printer

Problems with regular printouts

I have this receipt printer set up as my default printer in Windows XP pro.  It's works great untill you try to print a regular document, web page, pdf, etc.  it prints those out receipt sized on letter sized paper.  This doesn't happen with my lexmark printer.  Just my HP's.

    has anyone found the answer to this? I just ran into it with two new PCs and two new printers. All of my documents printed to laserjet are now about 3 inches wide. Very aggravating!

That's been the work around. open the print window, select the Lexmark printer then select the HP printer and it works. but you know what happens when your end-users have to click more than once...not acceptable...I'm still working on this issue myself.

Hello, How can I get my Pc America to run reports on full size they seem to only show up on screen as receipt paper size. AND they print like that too.

You may be able to enlarge the image size of the report after you paste or import it into Word. Or, open the Properties/Preferences of your printer. Here you can select to print normal size or enlarge the image.

I cannot see the full page in any of my reports


The issue you are experiencing may be a result of what is set as the default printer in Windows.

We will need to set the default printer in Windows as a full size printer...

In XP:

Select Start then Printers and Faxes.

Right-click an available full size printer (if none are available select the XPS Document Writer) and select Set as Default Printer.

In Windows Vista/7:

Select Start then Devices and Printers.

Right-click an available full size printer (if none are available select the XPS Document Writer) and select Set as Default Printer.


Select Manager/Options.

Select Setup then Friendly Printer Setup.

Select Receipt on the left and then make sure your receipt printer is selected.

Select Report on the left and make sure your full size printer is selected.

Select Save and Exit.

So i bought the printer c5380 and it worked great on win XP pro and then I installed windows 7 ultimate I installed the printer and everything but it won't print I can scan and do anything else but when...

Wordpad doesn't ask you where you want to print to. IT automatically prints to the Windows DEFAULT printer. Check that this set correctly in control panel under "printers and Scaners". It should have a tick on it. Ian.

My HP 1120cxi was workinh fine until i reinstalled windows XP pro. now it doesnt print. tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer and driver, but it just prints 1 line of gibberish

The Print Diagnostic Utility diagnoses and resolves common printing problems and communication problems, including:

    • USB: Ensures that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
    • Network: Ensures that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly. If the tool detects a network connectivity problem, you will be prompted to run the HP Network Diagnostic Utility for better results.
  • Spooler : Automatically restarts the print spooler, which sends print jobs from the computer to the product, if it has been stopped.
  • Online status : Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
  • Device manager : Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
  • Print queue : Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
  • Port : Checks the port settings for the HP product.

Customber recipt check doesnt print logo after i set it up to do so... only prints logo on full professional format on the printer. i checked the printer settings on the software and checked "print logo"...

What version of RPE are you using and what model receipt printer? Version 11.5 with an Epson thermal receipt printer usually requires a special logo designed for that model printer. Not just any jpg or gif graphics file. Epson will create file for you, but it is pricey, around $200 last I checked. I'm not sure if the latest version 12 has a better fix for this or not. And you are right, there is no print preview on receipt printing. Contact me if you need tech help.

Printer not printout

Was there a message appear when the printer did not print? Have to make your printer as your default printer?
If you did not set it here's the step.
1. Click start
2. choose printers and faxes
3. click the printer icon
4. clikc file then choose as default

Try also the printer test
Same step 1 to 3
4. right click the icon
5. properties
6. click the printer test.
Hope that will sovle your problem

An extra cut about 1 inch after the invoice is printed

Go into printer friendly setup, then select the receipt printer and choose the option 'Cut at this station'. Make sure it is unchecked. Your problem solved ;)

Prints gibberish

print a selftest:

turn printer off then hold down the feed button, turn printer on and release feed button whenever it prints something.

pls reply back with info on printout, such as baud rate, parity and other info specially interface, thanks
