Question about Fuji FinePix A340 Digital Camera

Card not initialized

I have a FujiFinePic A340 camera. I used it yesterday and when I went to take a pic today, it shows that the card is not initialized.
I love this camera and went and bought another card thinking that maybe there was a problem with the card. I put the new one in and it showed the same thing.
Is there any way to fix this, as I really, really don't want to have to look for another digital camera.
Thanks
Connie

Could this be because I used a M256 card this time and the original card was put back in after I put in the M256 card?

If I go back to the original type card (No M) will I be able to use the camera again?

Hi Friend,
As per the problem suggested there is no problem in the digital camera. When u are placing the card it might not be placed properly and in secure manner. So the slot may be got some problem.

So give the camera to the fuji service center so that as u told we no need to change ur digital camera.which u like most,so the best think is we can give it to the service centre so it will be safe and securely handled.

In a case we are changing again and again then it may create to a big issue

Regards.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Card not initialized any ideas ?

It means you need to format the card in the camera. This will erase it so download any pics first using a card reader if necessary.

Card not initalized

Forget the computer...the card needs to be formatted in the camera. This can be found in the setup menu. This will completely erase the card so if you have any pics on it, download them first using a card reader if necessary.

Error message on lcd "card not intialized"

To Funkee Monk

The problem may be due to the size of the cards you are using. The manual for this model only mentions cards up to 512mb in card size as compatible ones. On the Fujifilm's website there is a compatiability chart which does state that the camera can accept up to 2 GB but that some cameras might have to have a firmware upgrade to do so (there is a list of serial numbers at the bottom of the chart to check your camera against.
The link for this is......

Hopefully this will help (& not barking up the wrong tree!)
