Ice build up in bottom of freezer

I had about four inches of ice in the bottom of the freezer side. After about three hours of thawing I got the metal basket out. My father in law said there should be a hole in the bottom that was stopped up and unable to drain. NO HOLE!!! so I turned the freezer back on and this morning I have a slight starting of ice again. Also every now and then you here a low clicking noise. Don't know if it is the ice maker I am hearing or not. If you have any ideas please let me know.

drain is located in very back of bottom of freezer an a little ledge 6 inches from bottom.... ice build up normally means drain is clogged and needs hot water / turkey baster to force hot water down drain. (gently chip away ice careful not to crack plastic

Maytag + mzd2752grw side by side on the freezer side ice builds up on the bottom

Your defrost drain is frozen. If you can empty the freezer you can thaw the drain with a hair dryer. You will have to turn the box off. should only take half hour. hope this helps

Refrigerator has a bulge on the outside of the cabinet on left side where the ice maked is located and that side of the box is cold and sweating

Empty the ice from the ice maker. It sounds like you have a build-up of ice between the ice maker and freezer wall. When you thaw this ice, the bulge should go away. You may need to temporarily move the ice maker for a few hours while the freezer thaws.

My Maytag side by side fridge freezer is leaking at the bottom and ice is collecting at the bottom of the freezer. I cannot find any model number but think it's about 6 years old

The drain is clogged behind the wall in the freezer you can do one of three things take the back wall inside the freezer off and thaw the drain in the bottom and clear it out,Pay someone else to do this,or you can mover your food for a day unplug the unit open the freezer door and leave it off for 24 hours allowing the ice to clear from the drain, seems to happen about every five or six years with Maytags..

Whirlpool Side by Side Freezer - Ice Build Up in Drain

After the drain thaws , ( I use about a 4 inch aluminum fence tie or if need longer , aluminum wire with no insulation ,) insert it into the drain hole as far as it will go with no force , and wrap the top end about 1 turn around the calrod defrost heater , This transfers heat to the hole so the ice will not freeze up the hole . Before doing this step , use a hose and blow into the drain to possible clear out any debris which could have accumulated in the drain trap .

Freezer keeps thawing. There was an ice build up.

Check the "flap" in the door where the ice is released. If it has come undone it will thaw the ice in the maker and into the freezer...

My GE side-by-side refrigerator is making a fairly loud ticking sound--about once every second-sounds like a big clock.

Water line to ice maker is frozen. Thaw out freezer. Put food in dry ice cooler and open freezer door, reset to OFF, and thaw freezer for four hours. It'll work after that.

Fan in freezer very loud noise

There is probably an ice build up behind the plastic rear panel. The ice build up gets so thick that eventually, it obstructs the fan and then you get that loud noise as the tips of the fan are chipping away at the ice.
What you need to do is to remove the rear panel and thaw the ice build up. To remove the rear panel is usually only 2 screws at the bottom.....you will find that the panel is difficult to remove due to ice build up behind it, so gentle heat from a hairdryer is a good way to accelerate the thawing process....once the panel is removed, you will see the ice build up......mine was about 2 inches thick!!!
I used the hairdryer to thaw it all out and then once cleared, switched it back on and have never had a problem since.
By the way, my F?F is a Beko CDA563FS......the one with the water dispenser on the front and frost free.
Hope this helps

Kitchen Aid Model KBLC36MHS01

The drain under the evaporator is frozen/plugged.  You can take the back panel inside the freezer off and run hot water down it to thaw it out completely and this will solve your problem.
