Get a magnetic tipped rod available at most NAPA or car part stores. (it's a common problem) and try and fish it out. Hopefully it hasn't gone down your intake manifold yet. If that doesn't work remove the carb and get it out. It will not safely pass through your intake manifold, through an intake valve, rattle around in your cylinder, out an exhaust port, through your exhaust manifold and out your exhaust pipe without doing major damage. You need to find it and remove it before you start your car again.

Engine hard to start after sitting

Sounds like it could be a carburator issue. Fuel could be leaking out of the fuel bowl or back to the fuel tank. You can tell this if you have the breather off and *before trying to start the engine* operate the accelerator arm on the carburator as you look down into the carburator. If the fuel hasn't leaked back you should see it shoot some fuel into the carburator. Also could be a fuel pump problem where the pump lets the fuel leak back and there isn't fuel there to pump up to start the engine when it's cold. Also the 360 wasn't released until 1971 so it's pretty safe to say it's not a 1967 or not a 360.

Er5 engine full of coolant seems to be coming from the carb into airbox and draining into the breather!

Dear KrazeeCBR,

Most likely you have an gasket failure. Check your gaskets
There is no link between engine coolant and carburator. The coolant runs through your engine and cools it. If the gasket leaks, the coolant will enter the engine. And when you switch your engine off, it will drain into airbox through carburator.

Good luck

My Honda Met.2 Chf50 runs great with handkerchief on intake of carb but when you attach breather quits

Hi, Monte the two wires are probably for the electric auto choke for this scenario you will need your service/owners manual if you can't find the best tool you ever bought for your Yamaha, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one. Valve breather shots out oil when engine is running

I do not think this is a gasket issue, if the machine has beed tipped up oil will travel up the breather tube and enter the air filter case, over filling will also cause this, if its been tipped it will clear if you run it for a time with the filter off.

1996 Harley Davidson Dyna super glide, oil blowing back through carburator.

In all probablility, the oil is not being blown back through your carb but rather is being blown into your carb. In 1994, Harley went to a crankcase breater system that we refer to as "head breathers". If you remove your outer air filter cover, you'll see two large bolts that screw into each head of your engine. These are "union" bolts in that they are hollow and allow excess crankcase pressue to be blown into the air filter for recirculation through the engine to be burned. The EPA started requiring this back in late 80's but the lower crankcase vent system that Harley used caused even more problems and was changed to this system.

Good Luck

Will not stay running

I cleaned the carburator on mine. That did the trick. Make sure you remove the bowl from underneath and clean the bolt. The bolt has holes in it that may be clogged. Clear it with a small wire. I then sprayed the carburator down with starting fluid. You may use carburator cleaner on the carburator, but I didn't I just used a brush.

Simplicit riding mower:won't turn over when started..

if this is a push mower the shear pin under the flywheel is sheared causing compression to come out of carburator making it blow the breather cover off
