Question about Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U 42 in. LCD HDTV
I have a Sharp Aquos LC-42XD1E and have had it trouble free for about a year or so I would guess. Recently I noticed that there are some horizontal lines in the top left, spaced about an inch or so apart that last for about 4-5". Its just a shadow.... not ghosting of an image, just the same shadowy lines every time its used and always in the same place. Its most pronounced on a soft light colour like light blue or grey. When its a white screen its almost gone and when black its gone. At its worst (only seen this once or twice) then you can notice that the lines are actually part of a 'mesh' like pattern of say 1" cubes across the screen, so I am assuming its part of the telly's construction or something. Please tell me there is a fix for this? Proving to be realy frustrating as you find that instead of watching the program, your eyes keep focusing on the lines and back again...!! This is made even worse as my wife cant seem to see them!!
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Sharp Aquos Won't Power On
I have the same problem with my My LC-42D62U WHen i watch certain DVDs, (so far it happened on SAW III and RUNNING SCARED) during certain parts of those movies my TV will turn off and i cant turn it back on unless i unplug it and plug it back in. It only turns off on specific parts in the movie, i have no idea why...like the same exact parts...so i pretty much have to pause the movie with my remote once my TV turns off then when i power the TV on again just resume the movie and its fine...but if i rewind to that part again it'll power off again SAW III only had one part like that....but RUNNING SCARED had about 3-4

To adjust screen size, choose the View Mode feature on the top right of the remote control. Zoom size is full screen for watching DVD movies, but sometimes there is still a thin black band due to the formatting of the dvd (unless you buy full screen versions) S. Stretch view mode is best for TV Movies.(usually fills whole screen) Occasionally there are TV movies which just don't respond to being stretched to fill the screen, it's just the way the signal is coming through . 1080i/p detects the resolution of the signal and displays the same number of pixels on the screen, but a 720p signal input will be viewed in full screen.
