Cant pick up any radio stations after battery was changed

I have this unit( Sony CDX-M600) in a truck that sat about a year and a half. It was working fine when I parked it. Now it will only play CDs it will not pick up any FM stations at all. I checked to make sure nothing had chewed into the antenna wire and even plugged a different antenna with no luck. Any ideas short of buying a new one? CD WORKS FINE.NO SOUND FOR RADIO STATIONS APPEARING TO COME IN NORMAL ON DISPLAY..HELP! Hi have the same problem on a CDX-M600 head unit. After a long time of not driving my car, the tuner will scan and stop on a channel but it's just static as if it is stuck on some off frequency channel. The same sound no matter where it stops. The stereo light never comes on. AM does not work at all.The CD section works fine. I pulled it inside and it does the same on a bench supply. All I can imagine is lightning must have damaged the tuner. I have a retracting Antenna that stays down of course.

SOURCE: Sound only coming from one side

you should have 3 leads going into you multi changer, two rca's and one bus lead. power up the unit and remove the first rca cable if the music goes off unplug the second rca and plug the first rca where the second was plugged in, if the music comes back on then the multiloader is working fine and you need to check the radio controller and its connections

SOURCE: Sony CDX-M600R car radio CD: Radio does not work,

Don't know if you have an external antenna or one mounted in windshield but you should be able to find the coaxial heading towards the back of the radio. Make sure that it is plugged into the radio.

Dimensions of CDx m600

Do you need the mounting dimensions or the unit size of the Sony Xplod CDX-M600? The unit dimensions are 7 1/8" x 2" x 7 1/4". The mounting dimensions are 7 1/4" x 2 1/8" x 6 1/2". (This is width x height x depth.)

Both are available in the manual on the specifications page. The manual is available from Crutchfield on the product page: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-K2FMmapLnGu/p_158CDXM600/Sony-Xplod-CDX-M600.html . The direct link to the manual is http://pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20000410114500/Manuals/158/158CDXM600.PDF . See page 35 in the right hand column.

I hope this helps.

Check the connections between the head unit and the XM tuner. If the connections are good check for power and ground.

Hi, my problem is that each time I turn off the ignition I lose all my radio settings (i.e. the station pre-sets). My Sony is a CDX-L400X. I was wondering if there is an internal battery (like a button...

Hi, the problem is likely in the wiring or possibly a burned fuse. There is a separate wire to the radio that is always hot and keeps the station and clock settings while the key is off. If you tell me the car model and year, I may be able to tell you which wire and fuse to check. Was this working originally or has it never worked?

I hooked up my Sony cdx m-600, all works fine but radio does not work. at all. Why?

make sure the unit is hooked to the antenna correctly. This unit will not play the radio and will disable the static noise on the radio. So ensure the antenna is properly hooked in. For more info on how to use the deck click here for the manual. got this directly off sony's website for model cdx m-600. So let me know if that it is properly hooked up and we can figure out where to go from there.
