Jenn-Air JXT8030ADS kitchen hood has stopped working

No response out of the control panel on the hood. Lights or fan not working. Is there a fuse in the hood that may have blown?

Although there was still power going to the hood, my husband decided to try flipping the breaker. This must have reset something in the fan as it is now working.

I just had the same problem where power was showing but nothing worked. I reset the breaker in the panel and it started working. Thanks for the first tip!

Unit has no power. Circuit breaker OK. Is there a fuse somewhere in the hood?

Very likely the power supply unit is faulty or the controller itself. The parts list shows no fuse internally. The power is directly going to the control board (item 3). Make sure you turn power to the rangehood off at circuit breaker before working on it.

check to make sure you have power back to the junction on the hood, sometimes just resetting the breaker wont do the trick,it may be a wire at the hook-up open now, there may be a fuse protecting the unit itself for the fan control, but the lights are usually wired direct so re-check the incoming power first

Jenn Air stove wired backwards

The fan is likely 120-volt fan, and swapping the wire likely put 220 across the fan. Did the fan seem to rev up very fast? The control is also likely 120-volt, and that too had 220 applied to it.

Give me the model number, and I'll find what parts you need to replace

Blow back istead of suck out

This installation guide on the Jenn-Air web site does not provide electrical details, but there are two possible problems here.

1. - The fan could be installed backwards...or upside-down...so it moves air the wrong way

2. - The power wires might be connected incorrectly.

My best guess is that the fan uses a standard ac-powered motor, so the polarity of the wiring would not affect the direction it turns. If that is true, then the most likely problem is that the fan is installed incorrectly.

Good luck...and I hope this is helpful!!

How to reset my Jenn-Air Jxt8836ADS kitchen hood?

According to Jenn-Air (Maytag) if you remove the power from the hood for 15 minutes it will reset the board. So depending on how long the power was out the outage would have done this. There is a good possibility that the outage ruined your board.

Lights stopped working

Have you opened the hood at all? Service instructions should be on the cover of the controller box. FYI the fuse is on the 12V side of the transformer so it which feeds triac controlling lights and controller board so nothing works when it blows.
