Help me turn my tv on

Basically my tv won't turn back on. I have had the tv for over a year and never had this problem before. it started when i want to watch a dvd, the dvd was already connect to the tv & has been over several months. So i selected input from the remote & scrolled down to select various choies. tje last one i selected was "dvi", there was still no activity so I tried to go back to the main menu. at which time the tv wouldn't do it. so i tried to turn the power off from the tv & remote & the screen was still black with "dvi" in the top left hand corner. so I unplugged it & it won't come back on. I spoke to the people @ dell & they were not able to help me & said my warrranty has expired. Can you help me please? A friend gave me one of these TVs and I am having the same problem. The audio is working but the screen comes on for a second and then it shuts off. The audio continues to work. Any other ideas

Dell are a bunch of rip off artists.

Dell tv/monitors turn off if there is no input coming from the selected input. In this case DVI, try powering on the TV and using the menu buttons along with the channel Up/down buttons on the tv to select a different input.

Hopefully this works for you.

You have a back light issue. Sometimes it's cheaper to get another one. Tcon board failure most likely. If you can find a rv repair or electronics repair they might do the work but as you got 5 years from it. Most TV sets fail in less time than that.

My Mitsubishi Medallion tv stays on for about 10 minutes and then shuts down and won't turn back on until a period of time has passed. It is a rear projection tv about 9 years old. Can anyone help ex

When it shuts off and the green power light goes off, press both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set (not the remote) and hold both for about five seconds and release.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks and then 3 blinks and repeat it several times.

What is the error code?

That sucks about your tv. Mine just turned 3 years old. Never had a problem with it. But you seriously can't expect wal-mart to take back and exchange a 3 year old tv. Come on. That would be stupid for walmart to do. Even RCA prolly dosent do more than a 1 year warranty. Unless you purchased the warranty from walmart, it will be cheaper to just get a 19 inch lcd tv now. Cheapest I see them on sale for is only $99.99

I have a Toshiba 26AV502R tv, was working yesterday and now it won't turn on? It's about a year old. What do I do to fix this?

the only thing you can try to do: unplug TV, let it "reset" for a minute or so, then plug it back in. If that won't help, means: surrender to repair service. for 1 year, even with 24/7 usage, there is a slim chance for "bloated" capacitors inside of TV's power supply, but quite a good chance of your main board failure. Now a days they quite compact, packed with high temperature producing IC chips, led-free solder, which has drawback of "fatigue" failure. Or, there might be power surge involved. In any case, except "lock up", appeal to TV repair service.
good luck,

Try a different source on the tv to see if the tv is toast. Ten years is quite old and tvs have come on a long way since this one. Alternatively try a different tv on the cable box.

I have the same problem also. I am assuming that the power supply is bad. I have looked everywhere and can not find a replacement or the pinout on the supply. If anyone can find a service manual or a replacement board, please let us know.
