    Hi there.
Is it saying PhotoGallery.msi cannot be found?

  • pickmynose May 11, 2010

Do you have a virus scanner? Could just be a virus faking its name.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility which is free from here

  • Install the utility
  • Run the cleanup utility (usually found on the START / (ALL) PROGRAMS menu).
  • Scroll down until you see 'PhotoGallery'
  • Select Remove
  • Shut down the computer (not RESTART), wait 20-30 seconds, then power back up.
Reinstall Hp photo gallery if you still want to use it or need it.

I had the same problem and couldn't find "photo gallery" anywhere on PC to remove it. I uninstalled/removed my HP printer software, and the message has not appeared again.

How do i stop my windows intaller trying to install symantec antivirus msi file

Step 1:
Stop Windows Installer From Popping Up b> The older a computer gets, the more junk it accumulates. A great number of computers out there don't start up without a thousand things popping up demanding your attention. Windows Installer is one of the more notorious pop-up offenders for Microsoft users. Stopping these pop-ups can prove challenging, however, there is a way.

On your computer's desktop, click on the "Start" tab, typically located on the bottom left of the screen (in Vista it may be the Windows symbol rather than the word "Start"). Now locate and click the program titled "Run." Vista users can locate this program by typing "run" in the search box at the bottom of the "Start" menu. Once "Run" is open, type "MSCONFIG" into the empty box and click "OK." This will open the System Configuration Utility. With the System Configuration Utility open, select the tab labeled "Services." Scroll down the list of services (it may be beneficial to click the "service" column to sort the services alphabetically) until you find the "Windows Installer" program. Now click the check box beside the Windows Installer name and click the "Disable" button at the bottom of the System Configuration. Congratulations, you have stopped "Windows Installer" from popping up!

How do I turn off the screen keyboard that comes on whenever I turn on the computer

- First, identify which program is popping up, second prevent it from loading :
1) while soft keyboard is on screen, run the Process Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC), go to the Apps Tab, look for a program with KB in its name, kill it (or, exit the keyboard program, keeping an eye on process manager, in order to identify the prog that terminates) : if it was the right one, then
2) type WINDOWS+R, msconfig, go to the startup tab, and uncheck the line containing the identified program and validate.

Missing PhotoGallery.msi

Hello,

You can approach this a few ways:

Cleanup A Problem Setup
An additional possibilities if the above info doesn't do the trick:

Remove PhotoGallery (you can reinstall it afterwards if you use it):
  • Check to see if you can find PhotoGallery in the ADD/REMOVE programs list (in START menu / CONTROL PANEL). If you use Windows Vista this will be called Programs And Features.
  • If it is listed, click on it then click on the UNINSTALL button or link (either to the right or near top of the window).
  • Once removed, shut down the computer (not RESTART), wait 20 seconds, then power back up.
  • The errors should be gone
If the problem persists, try the following:
  • Download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility which is free from here (about 1/3 down the page for the download link):
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=290301
  • Install the utility
  • Run the cleanup utility (usually found on the START / (ALL) PROGRAMS menu).
  • Scroll down until you see 'PhotoGallery'
  • Select Remove
  • Shut down the computer (not RESTART), wait 20 seconds, then power back up.
Hope this helps out,

Chris

Lost Files From Uninstalling

The easiest way to uninstall programs is by going to Control Panel, if using XP then go to add/remove programs if using Vista then go to programs and features.

If you cannopt open photo gallery then I suggest you insert your windows CD and repair your version of windows. All of your other files will remain intact, windows will find and replace corrupt system files and replace missing files.

I hope this helps
