Question about Canon i350 InkJet Printer

4 Answers

My printer was working fine and then after an ink change

And I turned the printer on the ink holder moved to the far right and would not return to the center to print. The power on button began flashing green and then turned to orange and now just keeps flashing orange.

An error comes up telling me to check my manual but I cannot find my english manual.

would appreciate your help. Thank you. Joyce

One item that I did not include when posting my problem was in the error box it stated the used ink tank is full. Cancel printing and turn the printer off and on and then check the manual.

I went to the site you gave me to download i350 manual but it says unavailable. Obviously I am not reading something right.

I checked the ink cartridges and they have both tips on them.

I have a new black ink cartridge on hand. Should I try replacing this and see if this helps.

Well I replaced the black ink cartridge and no difference.

What would make the ink cartridge holder stay on the far right hand side and not return to the center to print.

  • joy_moore Jun 04, 2009

Thank you for your answer. I did this and the paper started coming through and it indicated it was printing and the usual indicator showed each page as it went through but the only problem is that the pages were blank. The printer head to the far right hand side so nothing was printed. Now all we have to figure out is how to get the printer head to not move back to the far right but stop in the middle so documents will print.

Thank you for all your help. I am hopeful that you can help with this other step.

I have done all the items you gave me but the printhead stilll remains at the far right when the paper starts coming through with a printing sound but no printing.

Yes this solution did help to a point. It did get the paper moving through the printer with a printing sound but printhead remained at the far right and no printing appeared.

1: Unplug power and USB
2: Open door and hold power button.
3: Connect power.
4: Close door, then release power button
5: Connect USB and an press power to use.
This method will work only whilst the printer's connected to power. Turning off and on at the switch will keep it, but unplugging it from the power will reset it, which means you'll have to do this again: What this does is temporarily reset the printer, but also stops it from doing headcleans everytime you open the door to switch print heads or ink tanks

------------------
1. Disconnect printer from AC power (take out AC cord or power off your power strip). Disconnect USB PC cable from printer.
2. Press and HOLD the POWER button (untill step 7).
3. Reconnect power cord (turn on power) to the printer.
4. The indicator should be green.
5. Press and release the RESUME button , the indicator should be orange.
6. Press and release the RESUME button again, the indicator should be green.
7. NOW Release POWER buttons.
8. NOW Connect the printer to PC (USB cable).

9)and now check the printout.
thanks.please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.thanks.

Hi,

The Blinking Light
While there is no surefire answer to this problem, it is acommon enough one that it should be included. Each printer has a differentreason for its dreaded blinking or orange light but some general reasonsinclude a paper jam, a printer cartridge problem or a problem with the printerhardware. It could also be an indicator that the computer is not talking to theprinter. Check your printer manual to see what specific light errors mean foryour model.

Please download the printer user manual from the canon official site:

Thank You

Hello Joyce,

Kindly try these steps:

1: Unplug power and USB
2: Open door and hold power button.
3: Connect power.
4: Close door, then release power button
5: Connect USB and an press power to use.

This method will work only whilst the printer's connected to power. Turning off and on at the switch will keep it, but unplugging it from the power will reset it, which means you'll have to do this again: What this does is temporarily reset the printer, but also stops it from doing headcleans everytime you open the door to switch print heads or ink tanks.

Good luck and have a great day!

Can't get WF-3520 cartridge holder box from far right position so I can remove & replace an ink cartridge

To force cartridge removal do the following
Shut down the printer (if it is powered on)
Now turn the printer on
When you see that the carriage starts to move instantly unplug the printer power cable
Now you can move the carriage freely by hand!
Move it in the cartridge change position and change the cartridge you want to change

Do it just if the printer has a defective cartridge and the carriage won't go to the cartridge change position :)
Hope you found it useful!

Ink holder will not stop in middle to change ink

Hi, normally when changing ink cartridge, once you open the cover the printer head move from home to the center of the printer and halted,if in case this not happen something wrong with the sensor, if the printer move from home to center just pull off the power cord to stop the printer at the middle or nearly at the middle just to remove the cartridge and replace it. Upon replacing the ink cartridge, just power on the printer and it will return home to its position.

My new epson p 50 don't work with new refill ink rechargable, the printer say don't recognize the ink, but the seller tell me there no problems of compatibility... why my printer don't work???

  1. With the ink cartridge holder in the ink cartridge replacement position, lift the lids on the cartridges but do not take them out.

    • If the cartridge holder is not in the ink cartridge replacement position, press and hold the maintenance_button.gif Maintenance/ fonte1.gif ink cartridge replacement/ cleaning_button-also-ink_cart_replacement.gif cleaning button (depending on your printer model) until the holder moves out.
  2. Check the yellow tag/flap has been removed from the top of the cartridges.
  3. Push down firmly on each cartridge to make sure it is clicked into place.
  4. Close the lids down gently but firmly so they click into place. Be careful not to touch the cartridge sensor.
  5. Press the maintenance_button.gif Maintenance/ fonte1.gif ink cartridge replacement/ cleaning_button-also-ink_cart_replacement.gif cleaning button on the panel to move the carriage back to the right hand side and start the ink charging process.

    • This process takes about one and a half minutes to complete.
    • When ink charging is finished, the print head returns to its home position on the far right, under the plastic casing. The dx4400onbutton.jpg power light stops flashing and remains on, and the black%20ink%20icon.jpg error light goes out.

  6. If the black%20ink%20icon.jpg error light flashes after the print head returns to the home position, the ink cartridge may not be installed properly. getfile.aspx?rid=110

  7. If the red light is no longer displayed, but Status Monitor still reports a Non-Genuine Ink warning when the cartridges are genuine, perform a full uninstall and reinstall of the printer driver, using the latest driver from the Drivers & Software section of the Epson Support website. For help with this step, see one of the following Related Articles:

  8. If the red light is still on the printer, and Status Monitor indicates that an ink cartridge is not recognised, follow the steps below:

    1. Power the printer OFF.
    2. Disconnect the power lead for 60 seconds.
    3. Reconnect the power lead. Do not power the printer on yet.
    4. Perform a printer operation check.

1. Lift the Scanning Unit (Cover) (A) and fix it with the Scanning Unit Support (D).

g0070680.png
Close the Document Cover (E) and lift it with the Scanning Unit (Cover).
important:
  • Do not touch the buttons or LCD (F) on the Operation Panel (G). May result in unintended operation.
  • When opening the Scanning Unit (Cover), the FINE Cartridge Holder moves automatically.
  • If the FINE Cartridge Holder does not move, make sure that the machine is turned on.
  • If the Scanning Unit (Cover) is left open for more than 10 minutes, the FINE Cartridge Holder moves to the right. In this case, close and reopen the Scanning Unit (Cover).

2. Make sure that the FINE Cartridge Holder (H) moves to the installation position.

g0070681.png
3. Follow the next procedure to insert the Black g0070683.png and Color g0070684.png FINE Cartridges into their corresponding slots g0070683.png and g0070684.png.

9. Insert the Color FINE Cartridge g0070684.png into the left FINE Cartridge Holder g0070684.png in the same way as the Black FINE Cartridge.

g0070689.png
10. Lift the Scanning Unit (Cover) slightly (1) and fold the Scanning Unit Support (2), then gently close the Scanning Unit (Cover) (3).

g0070690.png
important: Do not touch the buttons or LCD on the Operation Panel. May result in unintended operation.

11. Make sure that the LCD changes as shown in the illustration and go to the next step.

Pixma mp8300 shows error code 6A00 and wont work at all

The problem is inside the printer. Turn off the printer and open the replacement ink compartment- move the inks holder far to the left- use a torch to check where the inks holder home and you'll see that there is a sponge a tiny rectangular shape come loose -use the twiter and put back in place (holder).

I can't seem to install the ink. Am I missing a piece, do the ink carts go into something?

You are not missing anything. The cartridge holder should automatically position itself at the one of either side of the printer when you open the cover, whereby you can remove the old ones and install the new ones. If the cartridge holder fails to place itself at the proper position, turn the printer off and DISCONNECT THE POWER CABLE then try to manually move it to the proper spot (far right or left depending on the type of your printer) and install new cartridges.

The ink cartridges are all separate so you press the cancel button (with no jobs pending) to bring the cartridge holder in to the right place open the holder remove the cartridge and then replace it, let the printer purge the cartridge then your good to go
