There is a metal pin of some sort, about the size of a pinky finger, at the bottom of the dishwasher. I mistakenly pushed it in. How can I extract it and position it correctly? I am not sure what function it server, but since it has a water-tight gasket around it I don't want to turn the dishwasher on until I fix this.
Re: miele dishwasher - steel pin pushed in and lost
You found the temperature sensor. It's not a reset button. You will need to take off the toe-kick and possibly the bottom plate of the dishwasher to re-insert it. Do not run the DW until you fix this - it will leak and trip the float switch.
Re: miele dishwasher - steel pin pushed in and lost
The pin is a sensor, probably a heat sensor. I took off the front of the dishwasher, and removed the aluminum plate to get access to the electronics. I was able to find the errant pin and with a bit of grease, re-insert it.

you are supposed to clean that filter once per week. if it has sat for a long time, it may not function any more. also there may be broken glass in the bottom of the sump making it hard to engage the locking teeth on the bottom of the triple filter. 5635931 is the part number for the triple filter assembly. call 800 843 7231, press 0 and ask for parts. they will get you one out. you may have to break the old one out if the handle is stripped. push it hard against the direction of the arrow on the handle. the top handle should come off, then you can lift the stainless steel part out, and you should be able to twist the bottom microfilter out counter clockwise.
Hey there - if you have not read any of the post on here - the pump could be serviced from inside the machine, empty trays out, revoe the steel mesh on bottom with a lock lever where the drains is, under here you will see a steel spring like clip, move & pull the housing under it, then the pump impellar is there - just clean it out carefully - assemble or close door run a drain for 2-3 secs, assemble . should be good to go.,
Hi If you have a G 600 range dishwasher see instructions below.
Remove filter, On left of sump you will see a non return valve with a metal clip keeping it in place push clip into the centre of sump. remove non return valve ( plastic piece with ball bearing in it) and rotate impeller. Start a program, after 60 sec stop program, (debris will have been thrown out of pump.) re-assemble and test.don't forget to find debris thown out. More in depth instructions are in user manual under problem solving which can be downloaded from miele site. If G1000/G2000 Range Non return valve on right of sump and is removed by pushing in to centre of sump no clip fitted.
There are two metal clips at the bottom of the glass that hold the bottom of the glass in place- you can see these from the inside when the door is open and from the outside at the bottom of the door when the door is closed. There are two metal clips at the inside top of the door. You can see these when the door is open slightly inward from the "switch pins on each side. Open the door. You will see 2 small (about 1/16") metal pieces about 1/2 " in from the 2
switch pins. CAUTION: WITH SOMEONE ELSE HOLDING THEIR HAND UNDER THE
GLASS PANEL. Press the 2 metal pins in. Then slowly pull down on handle
until the metal parts move down past the tiny opening on the black inner
door. This glass is tempered and I can tell you from experience it will break in a million pieces if you are not careful tohold the glass.
Hello. Not all dishwashers have multiple panels which you can interchange. However, you always have two other options. One is to paint the white cover with stainless steel spray paint. You can do this yourself with spray cans available from home depot, or you can remove the door and take it to an autobody shop to have it professionally done.
you can also have a piece of stainless sheet metal cut to size at a metal fabricating shop and use a construction adhesive to attach it to the front of your dishwasher, using stainless outside corner trim to finish the job.
Hello Joannekirk9, I used to work at Miele in the technical services department. The most likely cause of your problem is the jets on the spray arm are clogged with soap build up or debris. Solution - Try cleaning out the bottom spray arm jets with a toothpick and then running the dishwasher through a short cycle like normal or china crystal setting. You may also periodically do this with about 1 liter of vinegar to clean out the stainless steel tub once every 6 months to prolong the life of the dishwasher. The vinegar acts as a really good cleaning agent. Also, When using soap use 2 tablespoons of powder solution only!!! Oversudsing is the biggest problem I have seen with these dishwashers. If you are still having a problem contact Miele technical support. They are always extremely helpful. I also have a G832sci and has been great
This problem arises because the water inside the washer cannot get out.
Firstly......Make sure the salt cover if screwed on tightly (if you have one).
Then remove the filter(s) from bottom of the washer and clean.
Remove the drain pump cover and remove the one way valve (a ball bearing in a housing) and clean. Take note of rubber cover direction before pulling it out to clean.
Make sure the impeller (visible after you remove drain pump cover) is clean and spins ok. It will have a little resistance as you spin with your finger.
Make sure all is cleaned properly and it will all work fine again after replacing it all back in.
There is water collected in the inner tray of your unit. Pull out the Miele and take off the drain hose and unplug the unit. Then tilt the dishwasher back 60* and let it drain out all the water. There will be a couple of cups on the floor, but nothing too big that a couple of towles can't handle. Then reconnect everything and start up the unit. It WILL work! It just happened to me and my Miele incognito is now working like a champ again!!
