Question about GPS
My father in law gave this to me as he got a new SatNav, it was running AA Navigator, as you may know there have been no updated road maps for this since 2007 as evesham went bancrupt, so I decided to put Nav 'N' Go iGO 8 on it as it has some pretty good specs and runs Windows CE in the background.
Everything works fine except the map comes up as France, I can get UK addresses to come up, but cannot get a GPS signal, I have tried going into settings and doing an Autosearch, which selects different com ports and baud rates, but still no signal.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Not hard to do at all, you have two choices for that. Although one is a long shot by now.
Your first choice is that you could register your Nuvi with Garmin if you haven't already and see if they'd still let you qualify for a free update. More than likely not, but it's worth a shot.
The second choice is to buy the map update and insert the DVD into your computer and let the Update Wizard walk you thru it. It's actually pretty simple, but I will warn you that you'll probably won't have enough space to do the update so you'll have to delete some files you don't need anymore. Click on this to find out how to do that...
Good luck and I hope this helped you!!

You will need to erase a file from the units memory. Connect your GPS system to your computer; go to start then ‘My Computer’, and double click on your device file (mass storage system), there you will see a folder named ‘Garmin’.
In this folder are several different files, look for file named gmapsupp.img. Right hand click on this file and delete as this file is causing the maps to lock.
