Question about Boating
The engine was running fine but now the oil light comes on despite the fact that it has oil and now it refuses to start. I was out fishing of course when this happened.
It sounds like the oil cutout switch is bad. It is suppose to save your engine from running low on oil. Several things. Engines that use these switches may have two fill plugs. One is higher than the other meaning it has to have more oil to top it off. Next is the angle of the motor when it is on the boat. All the oil will go to the low side of the engine. If the oil shutoff is on the high side it thinks you are out of oil.
