Mower sluggish run nunder load

Had bad gas in Husqvarna with Briggs 22hp Twin V Intec. Ran on one cylinder, the one opposite fuel pump. opened valve cov and found top rod fell off. Reset rod to rocker arm and tightened 1/2 turn. Since then mower runs but under load revs up then dies as if no gas then revs then slows as if no gas over and over with out completely dying. Ive been told prob stuck intake valve? i have observed rocker arms with cover off and both appear to be working properly. You think stuck valve could be so? Any easy way to unstick it? (chemicals etc.) If not how do I do it?

The first thing you need to do is readjust the valves properly. Remove both sparks plugs and rocker covers. I stick a long philips head screwdriver in the spark plug hole in #1 cylinder (rt. side) and turn engine by hand till piston is at TDC. (both valves closed) Set int. and exh. at .005. Then do same to # 2 cylinder after turning it to TDC too. If that doesn't clear up the problem, it'll be time to go into that 2 barrel carb. Let me know. Dwain

There is a 13mm nut on the rocker with a torx adjuster screw in the middle on both intake and exhaust. Loosen the 13mm nut and turn the torx screw in or out to adjust gap to .005. Hold screw in place and tighten nut. Then do other side following my first directions. I would turn the engine by hand a couple of cycles and recheck valve clearances. I don't remember the size Torx screw, but I can tell you tomorrow when I get back in my shop. Did you understand all that? :)

The Torx size is a T-40. Dwain

Have 22HP BS V-Twin in a 2010 Husqvarna rider w/25 total hours. Recently won't cold start without priminig. It will crank and crank cold til the battery runs down. A shot of starting fluid and it runs...

nearly all petrol mower engines need to have the 'choke' engaged to start from cold. This enriches the fuel mixture, and is similar to priming. If there is a prime 'button' then you will probably have to use this all the time. This is normal.

However, you should check with your dealer to see if this is an unusual situation.

New 24 hp B&S engine running out of fuel

There is a restriction somwhere before the fuel filter, this is assuming gravity feed and there is no fuel pump for the engine.

Briggs and Stratton 22hp v twin OHV smoking badly

First thing to do is pull your dipstick and check for broken or missing O-ring also as you pull it, look to make certain that it was seated properly and all the way locked. If either condition exists, you will be leaking into the crankcase which will cause your symptoms

Engine starving for fuel, fuel filter very low, almost empty

your fuel pump is diaghram actuated by pulses from crankcase pressure, if you look there is a small tube that runs from pump to valve cover, pull fuel line off carb and have some one crank it over to see if it's pumping. could be pump or blockage between tank and pump, if fuel flow seems good to carb, i would pull bowl off and check for dirt and also make sure anti run on valve, the thinghy that holds the bowl on to carb is opening properly, it should open and close when you turn key from off to run, beyond that it could be you have some water in your gas.
