SOURCE: Clover C1714DVR - speaker makes

hi good day
if it was flashing light indicator then after a minute the power shut off this was indeed a classic swith mode power supply unit fault evidenced by faulty or blown capacitor, replaced it with the same value rating capacity you can find replacement parts at www.digikey.com. after you replaced you will need to observed because sometimes they are not totally the cause they are simply a result of the problem. now if you noticed after you replaced good capacitor then after several hour of operation the same thing happened the power shut off that is mean the PSU is responding to an overload somewhere in the set. most likely a component has failed fully or partially and is causing the power supply to trip off. you will find most likely a semi conductor that is faulty. you must obtain a service manual to have any change at all effecting repair. hope this will help you feel free to ask further question thanks for consulting the fixya service good luck.

My monitor is power turn itself every 5 minutes, please advice me the solving methodl

Hello,

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the tv there are few capacitors and IC.any of this ic is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop. Take care in solving the problem.....

Screen flashes very dimly takes ages to come on

Check the caps in the power supply first.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder jopints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Hello,

The slow startup is a common indication of a failure in the power supply board as the other experts have stated. We have a step by step repair guide posted on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/repairing-the-samsung-940mw-lcd-tv/ Our article has pictures and instructions to guide you thru the dis-assembly and repair of the power board. You should be able to do it if you can solder. Check it out and see. If you don't want to do the repair we do offer a repair service for this unit that runs $35 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

I have 2 View Sonic 32" LCD monitors that are used as televisions. One of the monitors randomly turns off, and takes a couple of attempts to power back up. The other recently just quite powering up,...

You may have power supply problem due to bad caps, open it up and look at the power supply module for bulging top or leaking. To have it repair will more likely to be over $100 plus parts if you can find the shop to repair them.

No power standby light

If it is the main fuse that is being smoked, there are a number of possibilities:

1) Since this is a CRT based set, the most common failure os of the horizontal output transistor. This goes shorted which causes too much current draw on the power supply and it pops hte fuse.

2) The switch mode power supply transistor has shorted.

3) Failure of the primary side capacitor.

Without seeing the set and taking some internal measurements, I can not state for sure the exact problem with your set. Since there are potentially dangerous high voltages present inside even when unplugged, I would suggest that you get a detailed repair estimate from a local service shop and post the results here. We may be able to walk you through the actual repair.

No need to buy a replacement board just find the faulty parts in the power supply or in the high voltage section maybe there is a part shorted thats why the power cannot flow. bring this to the shop maybe you cannot spent big money for the repair instead of buying new one

TV won't turn on

Until I actually get my hands inside one of these sets, I can only guess that you have a shorted component keeping the power supply from operating. If it weren't for all the Tv's that the *MART stores are selling the would be a lot more TV repair shops go out of business. Generally you don't want anything electronic with that brand name associated with it. Sorry to be so glum.
