No power, no light, no response? No problem! Well, not really. It could be a number of things. On the top of my list, the power adapter. Also I'd check the battery, and ever the processor if you can, but not likely to be the problem.Oh, and if you can, please describe the manner in which your laptop lost ots last glimmer of life, and try to check the charger if you can. Good luck :)

Reset the phone:
  • Plug the charger into the phone.
  • Hold down the Home button while holding down the On/Off button.
  • Continue holding these down until (hopefully) the Apple displays on the screen.

Locks frequently and restarts sometimes all by itself. Parts of the screen regularly skews in triangular shapes.

  • Verify that the power outlet you're using is good and your power cable is firmly connected to the wall outlet-if using a surge protector, be sure that it's firmly plugged into the wall outlet. Also, try temporarily plugging directly into the wall outlet to eliminate any issue with the surge protector; plug a different electronic device into the same wall socket to make sure the socket works, and also try the iMac's power cable in a different wall outlet.
  • Make sure the computer's power cable is firmly connected to the computer.
  • If any external devices are connected to your iMac, disconnect them and try to turn the computer on again. If the iMac will power up when those devices are removed, but not when they are connected, contact the manufacturer of those devices for assistance.
  • Try resetting the iMac's SMC
  • Remove and reinstall the SO-DIMM memory modules, located in the bottom of the computer.
  • Resetting the SMC for Mac Pro, Intel-based iMac, Intel-based Mac mini, or Intel-based Xserve

    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
    3. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    4. Release the power button.
    5. Attach the computers power cable.
    6. Press the power button to turn on the computer.

My mac wont let me update safari and in turn i cant access itunes store

Have you tried going to:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

to download the latest version of iTunes?

You mentioned Safari, but you'll use iTunes to access the store. If you need the latest version of Safari, go to:

http://www.apple.com/safari/download/

Safari requires at least Mac OS X 10.4.11 (click Apple menu in top, left corner and "About this Mac" to determine your version). iTunes is similar, though it requires 10.5.x and a more powerful computer for some features.

If you don't have at least 10.4, I'd recommend upgrading to it or 10.5, depending on which Mac you have. 10.5 works best on at least PowerPC G5 machines (such as iMac G5) or Intel machines (such as Intel iMac or MacBooks).

Good luck, and please let us know if this worked for you.

It is most likely your power supply. You can try buying one and changing it out. But it sounds like its the power supply, and don't keep trying to turn it on, if the supply comes through weak or bad-sine it can harm the motherboard.

White bar on right side of screen

Try a reboot. If it remains, shut down and leave off for about an hour. If it comes back you probably have a problem with your video card. You can have it replaced (it will be pricey though), or consider getting a new computer. I had a similar issue with an Intel iMac 24-inch out of warranty and had the card replaced but your machine is much older.

Does not display out although Monitor is working fine after checking ram, display card

if the power suddenly went from your board it may have caused a short circuit and effectively killed the motherboard. my suggestion would be to get hold of another motherboard and see if you can boot. if not then it will most likely be your RAM. but since you said the CPU light isnt on at all, it will most likely be a dead motherboard

Wirless mouse is not working

Try another wireless MAC mouse to check to see if it has failed. If the new one does not work, then the wireless receiver in the computer is not responding and will need service.

I am assuming that you checked to see that the mouse set-up is enabled.

Screen Changes and Comupter freezes

It may be possible that the power supply, display and or logicbpard may be having issues. Apple recommends resetting the pram and nvram. If issue persists reset SMU. YOur machine is 6 months outside of the original warranty, but if you purchased the 3 year extension plan, you may want to take action on it.
