The first thing to try is to run a "DVD" "CD" Player cleaner thru it, preferrably one that uses fluid. Run it thru a couple of times then try another disc. That's really all you can do. Manufacturers do not "repair" Players, it's too time intensive and cost prohibitive. They just swap out the existing transport in the unit for a new one. Price range from 100-150 on average. Hope this helps. If you still have a problem, reply as to what area of the country you are in and I can find service center near you.

My computer does not recognise the disc it keeps on saying i must put in a disc

Hi,
Please check both of your CD type and CD writer. You may have CD rom with DVD disc cause your computer is unable read the this. If everything is OK, you may have optical lens problem on computer. Please clean the lens with lens cleaner. If problem persist, replace your lens with new one.

Whenever i put a disk in my mxt dvd player it loads and just comes up with no cd.

You said disk. If you have tried different dvd movies then I would suspect a dirty or weak laser. If it plays dvd's ok but wont play certain cd's then I would suspect a compatability issue. You can try one of those laser cleaners at most dept stores or if you take it apart (with it unplugged) the laser is located where you put the disk in and it has a small plastic lens you can clean with a q-tip and alcohol. If that doesnt help the laser is probably bad, depending on the player it would probably be cheaper to purchase a new player.

Toshiba SD-K625 5 disk player won't play DVD but will play CD

Could be that the laser mechanism has lost its ability to focus properly on the dvd disks. U might want to try a firmware upgrade just in case the player has corrupted software. If not effective, then it is time to go shopping since a repair is not cost effective.

Laser is probebly goin bad and can't read. try putting a music Cd in. If it can play the music CD but not the DVD it's the laser.

hmmm, this is unusual, it appears to be an incompatibility with the DVD software, as everything else seems to work may I suggest that you upgrade your DVD software for a later version.
