Sometimes after a lot of use the rollers can get hard and slick. Roughing them up a little can help them grab again. You don't want to grind it off any because if it's smaller diameter it won't come in contact with the paper but you just need to rough it up a little by scraping it with a small wire brush or something similar that will break of the glaze on the wheel.

Everytime I send something to print the printer starts normally, it grabs the paper to start printing but then the paper never moves again. It sounds as though the document is actually printing but theres...

I don't know what printer you have, but this applies to all printers. The first paragraph is just for inkjets. The the whole is related to laser printers.

85% of paper jams are caused by worn rollers. The rubber treads in the rollers wears down, making them smooth, so they won't pick up the paper. Sometimes, they are aged, which also gives them a smoother rounded texture, causing jams. The quick fix is to liven up that roller with a mixture of alcohol and soap. Damp a rag with the solution and wipe the rollers clean with it. That's make them more pliable and the paper jams will cease.

Metal Tab Separation- Pull out your paper tray and examine either end where the paper sits in. If any of the corners are held down by metal tabs, this is your paper feed system. Chances are, you only have one rubber roller or one set of rollers arranged along side of each other. Reach in where the tray goes and feel up. You should feel some rollers. They might be completely round, or they might be shaped like a half moon. Clean whichever part of them you can with the solution, and this should stop your paper jams. It might be necessary to turn them, but don't force them if they don't move freely.

Pickup Roller and Separation Pad-

If your printer uses this paper feed system, you should see a small piece of flat or slightly curved rubber or cork. It would be towards the end of the paper tray, or deep inside the paper loading cavity on top loaders. This 'separation pad' rubs against the paper feed roller, so if you find the pad, you've found the roller. Clean it and your jams should stop.

Three Roller Paper Separation System- Pull your paper tray out, and look for a roller on either end of it. If you find one, clean it. Then look inside the printer where that roller would rest with the paper tray inserted. You'll find another paper roller there. Clean this one also. Finally, look further back or closer to the front of your printer (depending on which way your paper feeds) to find another roller or set of rollers. Clean all of these, and your paper jams will go away

Automatic document feeder(ADM) for Muratec F-112 fax-printer will not grab paper for processing. Wheel spins but paper does not advance unless forced into ADM

There is a small "re-feed" pad under the PF Roller which might need replacing OR the PF roller itself may need replacing. The machine when new should have come with a spare "re-feed" pad.

I received error code 5100.

  • Press down and hold the "On/Off" button, which is located on the printer's operator panel, for one second. Wait 15 seconds and then tap the button again. Attempt to print or scan a document.

  • Check the paper feed tray on the front end of the Canon to see if there is any paper visibly stuck inside the printer. Open the printer cover by gripping the front edge of the printer and lifting upwards.

  • Grab the edge of the jammed paper and gently pull towards you to remove the paper from the paper feeder. Unplug the Canon's power cable and USB cable, and then turn the printer around.

  • Pull off the rear plastic cover tab and check if there is any visible paper jam. Grab the edge of the paper and gently pull toward you until the paper is removed.

  • Push the rear plastic cover tab back into place, and reconnect the power cable and USB cable. Attempt to print or scan another document to see if the error is resolved.

  • Lift open the printer's cover again and wait for the ink carriage to slide into view. Press the "Push" button on the front of the first ink tank. Pull the tank out and then push it back into place to ensure it is properly seated

  • Repeat the process with the other three ink tanks, and then close the printer's cover. Power the printer off and then back on again

My printer attemps to grab the paper but does not for either copies or from a computer command

The paper feed roller(s) are probably dirty. If you can reach the the roller that pulls in the paper try to clean it with alcohol or kitchen type cleaner if you do not have alcohol make shure it is fully dry before trying to print. You can also wet one sheet of paper with alcohol where the roller will grab it and tell it to print while firmly holding back the paper as you do not want wet paper to feed into machine repeat if needed

Service manual for the HP 6110 all in one printer.

A metric allen wrench set (small sizes) is needed to remove the drive mechanism from the document feeder, then the parts can be disassembled. Unfortunately, the drive rollers, made of rubber were damaged by a small metal piece - (staple?) that was fed into the machine. Removal of the metal piece almost restored the drive. It needs to be lightly snded to remove the marks made by the staple. Thanks anyway.

    Paper jam in Panasonic KX-

Your document feed is separate from your received and report prints so that's why your reports are printing ok and the document feeder jams. When you open up the doc feeder and look inside the machine you will see a roller and above it on the cover that opens you will see a rubber pad. Clean both the roller and pad (in fact anything in there that is rubber) with a rubber cleaner, alcohol, or even soap and water on a cloth without it been dripping wet. You will probablt find that they are very dirty. The roller feeds the document in so that needs to be clean and the pad helps to keep all the other docs from feeding in at the same time and that should be very clean so it produces good friction.

Lexmark X2350 won't pull paper to print.

One common cause of paper feed issues is a build up of dust on the printer's rear paper feed roller. This roller consists of a plastic axle with one rubber roller on each side. This is located in the automatic sheet feeder and is referred to as the "Pick Roller." As dust builds up on the rubber rollers, they become less tacky and therefore unable to grab a single sheet of paper.
To prevent and/or cure this type of paper feed problem, these rubber rollers should be cleaned. Unplug the printer's power cord and remove the paper from the automatic sheet feeder. Locate the pick roller and clean the rubber wheels on the left and right with a cloth dampened with warm water (be sure there is no excess water on the cloth as it may drip into the machine). After these are free of any dust or ink build up, reload the paper and plug the power cord back in. The paper should then feed normally.

Next, try this printer self-test by following the steps given below:
    1. Press the "Power" button to turn the printer power off.
    2. Press and hold the "Copy" button.
    3. Press the "Power" button one time and release it(keep holding the copy button).
    4. Let go of the "Copy" button after the power LED flashes once.
    5. The self-test will produce 1 page. The test is not continuous.
The self-test should print out a set of black and color bars.
If the self-test prints, but has lines or smudges or other print quality issues, please let us know. This includes any print quality issues, we need to know if the problems you have with your black or color are based in the printer, or communications with your computer, or the computer's software.
If the self-test prints your test bar(s) clearly, the printer hardware is not at fault.

    DOCUMENT FEEDER

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
    Hope this helps. Bud

    Paper wont feed propaly

Something probably fell into that tiny pinch of an area where the paper goes. I have found everything from a Tostito crumb to a chip of drywall blocking my paper feed. Flip your machine over, poke it if you have to, and shake it around til the little bugger falls out.
