Sounds like you're freezing up. You're going to have to shut it down and let it melt...a day or more. Clean your condenser below the unit. When you restart the unit, get a thermometer in there. Your temperature in F should be 5-10 in the freezer and about 40 in the fridge. Colder than that causes problems.

Your problems are exactally the same as mine. I have taken the freezer back panels off and fornd the elements blocked with ice, the upper and lower channels to the fridge are blocked with ice and obviously therefore no0 cold air is going the fridge, I have de-frosted the freezer and put back together and everything works great for 2 weeks when the same thing accurs. My settings for both fridge and freezer are on the lowest possible, but the wife does fill the freezer with too much food! I guess I need an expert in!!

Recently got called out to an aeg electrolux s range.found evap drain pan in freezer to be iced up.the reported fault was fridge section too warm.found evap fan blade caught in ice, ducted air not getting...

Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer. If this repeatedly happens with yours, you may can prevent it by taking a bare copper wire and wrap it around a fin near the heater and put the other end a few inches down the drain. The heat convection may prevent it from freezing.

Freezer and frige not that cold

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.

Ice Cream and frozen waffles won't freeze.

LOL ! SO in other words in plain english your repair man told you needed a brand new refrigerator - Ok from your description here we can rule out low refrigerant or compressor problems, defrost timer and controlboard issues. I too have waffles and they DO get frozen although not as hard as ice - the less water molecules they have the less they are frozen hard. but nonetheless, my waffles are NOT soft, neither is ice cream

What I would ike you to do is put one of those refrigerator/freezer type thermostats, you can get those round ones, place it in your freezer leave it there 24 hours and look again - Optimal freezer temps is 0F once compression cycles off - if you areusing the extra cold setting, -10F - For refrigerator don't go over 40F - optimal temp of 36-38F.
Another method you can place a bowl of water and use one of those probes and measure the temp of the water in your fridge. If your temps are within safety levels do not worry - your ice is frozen and your frozen food is frozen - Some ice cream tend to be softer, especially the extra creamy type. If your refrigerator has a dial to adjust temps, raise it slightly and wait 24 hours and check your temps again you might need to bump down the temps a bit - if you have a control panel and 2 settings they are usually COLD or COLDER, set it to COLDER and check again - in the COLDER setting your compressor will shut down once your freezer hits -10F that should be quite enough to have even your waffles and extra creamy icecream frozen - if some of the liquids in your refrigerator is too cold or freezes, set it back to COLD or re-adjust the dial. Once you determined that your freezer AND refrigerator are within SAFETY levels as per the food safety guidelines and using the proper methods of testing, then you have nothing to worry about. Make sure your fridge and freezer are not leaking cold air by checking your door gaskets using the famous dollar bill technique by closing the door on the dollar bill and trying to pull it out - if there is no resistence and can easily come out, you have a gasket leak - check in different places on the gasket. As long as you can determine that your freezer and fridge temps are SAFE don't spend a dime ! If your temps are NOT in the safe range you probably have leaky gaskets - if the compressor seems to run all the time, you probably have dirty condenser coils that need to be vacuumed cleaned or dusted off using a condenser brush.

Ice maker has quit making ice

Lower the freezer temp. The icemaker won't come on until the temp is low enough.

The red warning light will not go out?

1. Has the fridge freezer just been
installed? If so, this is normal and the
light will go out when the correct
temperature has been reached.

2. Has the fridge freezer been loaded
with a large quantity of food? If so,
the light will go out when the correct

FFA60 Hotpoint fridge/freezer Red warning light

if i read the english right, the compressor runs but the freezer fan only runs for a short time. no fan then no cooling. there is a fan stat so that the fan only runs when the evap is down to temp. this may be faulty. also on some hotpoint, the fan switches off when door opened. check door switch operating ok. this may also explain problem with fridge lamp
