Question about HP PhotoSmart M627 Digital Camera
My hp photosmart M627 has error 31. Can you tell me how to fix it.
Your problems most likely came from it being dropped. The fix is time consuming but well worth it since this camera is a nice one to use. You are going to need a set of small screw drivers philips and straight. Also a soldering iron. Take the back off. Easy enough. Then remove the obvious screws you can see. Heat the iron up and remove the solder joints at the battery compartment. there are two and if you have taken all the screws out it will fall into your hand. Dont forget to remove the screws on the top board as well. If you turn the barrell on the lens you might hear a snap and that is a sign the lens has fallen back on to the track. If not take the screws out of the gear box and set the track on the barrell of the lens. This is not all that hard I have done several. Different cameras use different ways of getting to the motor drive. Most you dont have to unsolder, but with this one you do. I love this camera and it is worth the effort to fix.
