Question about Dell Studio 1537 Laptop

I cannot finalize the dell remote access software included on my laptop

I am trying to complete an installation that was included in my new Dell laptop studio 1537. When I try to enter my username and a password it refers me to tech support. It tells me to click the help button and there is no button...sound confusing? can anyone help????

You need to contact Dell on Call. They will provide free service for enabling your Dell Remote Access. They have a tool to activate the email address you used to register the program. The issue here is, the server failed to authenticate or activate your email address. Thus, this issue needs to be escalated.

Hello

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware and software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware/software, disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing your computer, press F8 to slct Advanced Startup options, and then select safe mode

it could be a memory (RAM) problem. Many Dell's have a Diagnostic partition on the Hard Drive, accessed by F12 at initial boot up. If yours has this, run a complete diagnostic and see if there are any errors.

Try to reboot in safe mode using "last working configuration" and do an evaluation and see what comes up

Dell Latitude 820 camera not accessible. My D820 has a camera lens just below the screen but i don't see where to access it. I checked programs, control panel/system/device manager etc. and can't find...


When did it last work? You may need to reinstall drivers/software for it. Do you see devices in device manager with a question mark next to it on the left?

How to repormat a laptop


Before reformatting the pc you must back up necessary files and applications that you might have. Because during the process all files would be deleted and pc would be back to its factory default. You may follow the steps below to reformat the pc.

1. Turn on the computer. When the Dell logo
appears, press <F8> several times to access
the Vista Advanced Boot Options Window.
2. Select Repair Your Computer.
3. The System Recovery Options window
appears.
4. Select a keyboard layout and click Next.
5. To access the recovery options, log on as a
local user. To access the command prompt,
type administrator in the User name
field, then click OK.

6. Click Dell Factory Image Restore. The Dell
Factory Image Restore welcome screen
appears.
NOTE: Depending upon your configuration,
you may need to select Dell Factory Tools,
then Dell Factory Image Restore.
7. Click Next. The Confirm Data Deletion
screen appears.
NOTICE: If you do not want to proceed with
Factory Image Restore, click Cancel.
8. Click the checkbox to confirm that you want
to continue reformatting the hard drive and
restoring the system software to the factory
condition, then click Next.
The restore process begins and may take
five or more minutes to complete. A message
appears when the operating system and
factory-installed applications have been
restored to factory condition.
9. Click Finish to reboot the system.
Operating System Reinstallation
Before you Begin
If you are considering reinstalling the Windows
operating system to correct a problem with a
newly installed driver, first try using Windows
Device Driver Rollback. If Device Driver Rollback
does not resolve the problem, then use System
Restore to return your operating system to the
operating state it was in before you installed
the new device driver. See "Using Microsoft
Windows System Restore" on page 38.
NOTICE: Before performing the installation,
back up all data files on your primary
hard drive. For conventional hard drive
configurations, the primary hard drive is the
first drive detected by the computer.
To reinstall Windows, you need the following
items:
• Dell Operating System media
• Dell Drivers and Utilities media
Restoring Your Operating System
NOTE: The Dell Drivers and Utilities media
contains drivers that were installed during
the assembly of the computer. Use the
Dell Drivers and Utilities media to load any
required drivers. Depending on the region
from which you ordered your computer, or
whether you requested the media, the Dell
Drivers and Utilities media and Operating
System media may not ship with your
computer.
Reinstalling Windows
The reinstallation process can take 1 to 2 hours
to complete. After you reinstall the operating
system, you must also reinstall the device
drivers, virus protection program, and other
software.
1. Save and close any open files and exit any
open programs.
2. Insert the Operating System disc.
3. Click Exit if the Install Windows message
appears.
4. Restart the computer.
5. When the DELL logo appears, press <F12>
immediately.
NOTE: If you wait too long and the
operating system logo appears, continue to
wait until you see the Microsoft® Windows®
desktop; then, shut down your computer
and try again.
NOTE: The next steps change the boot
sequence for one time only. On the next
start-up, the computer boots according to
the devices specified in the system setup
program.
6. When the boot device list appears, highlight
CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive and press <Enter>.
7. Press any key to Boot from CD-ROM.
Follow the instructions on the screen to
complete the installation.

No network adapters installed on my inspiron 2500


If you have access to another computer to download drivers to a flash drive you can go to this link and get the network drivers you need. Also you can request a complete one-time set of installation disks from Dell at no cost which should include all softwar and drivers that came with your laptop.

Iam lossing my laptop password that laptop model is asus eee laptop so kindly requsting give me solution


This issue is due to the deteriorated CMOS, RTC (coind cell) battery, which retains the BIOS, time settings etc including the poweron password. Get the CMOS/RTC battery replaced by a profession and the laptop will retain/hold the password.

Does the dell latitude 620 have a built in webcam? there is a little square window under the screen that i assumed was a cam? thank you


No it doesnt sorry but ive seen some very cheap and small ones on ebay which can just clip onto the screen and plug into a USB port. I bought 1 from China $7 including delivery and works great. Please dont forget to vote

Just got a new lenovo laptop and my dell 946 will not print anything from it. Not sure if it's a compatability problem?


Did you install the DELL printer-driver software onto the new laptop?

If you've lost that CD-ROM, access the manufacturer's web-site:

http://support.dell.com

and enter '946' and do a search for the device-driver software.

Had the same problem on my Dell Latitude running WinXP SP2, installing a HP6380.

I noticed the installer was trying to access the other network printers I had setup (the status of these printers turned into "unable to connect" in Control Panel.) These printers are on the company's network and were not accessible from the home network I was on at the moment of installation.

I then started a VPN connection to the company's network, so that the printers were all accessible. The "add device" part of the insallation then went through and the printer was setup successfully.
