Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook
I own a new HP DV9000 Laptop Computer with a 17" monitor. I have not had any problems with it since I purchased it several months ago. Well today when I turned it on it started without any problems except one the Wireless connection never came online. I did several restarts I flipped the wireless switch several times still nothing. if I plug it directly into the DSL Modem the internet works fine but the Wireless capabilities are non existant. can anyone tell me what I can do to try and fix this issue The problem is much the same. The wireless light(ORANGE)stays on whether the switch is turned on or off. Replace the wireless card but, no change.
You may need to reinstall the drivers for the wireless card or repair the connection in the control panel under network connections.

Check the Device Manager to see if the Wireless LAN device is working and enabled. If not reinstall the Wireless LAN driver.
If the Wireless LAN is OK and enabled then sometimes when you bootup the Wireless LAN card doesn't get an IP address from the wireless router. This usually has a red X on the wireless connection icon and sometime you get an error message "Limited or no connection".
To get the router to issue the wireless LAN card with a new IP address, righr click on the Wireless icon and click on Repair.
You can also power down the router wait 15secs and power up the router again then reboot the computer.
If it still doesn't work you could have a faulty wireless card, see it your friendly computer shop can test it for you.

this is not a solution, but it isn't helpless info either like "push the button all the way".. the thing with our laptops (dv9000) it's that our chipset, nVidia, it is often too hot for the motherboard, that makes something melt in it or something and stop working, unless you can get it fixed before everything else stop working you should get that fixed PRONTO. it's around $150,00 or call tech support cause i was told that some of this problems are being fixed by HP dependig on the purchase date .. right now i'm using a wireless internet d-link pendrive. try to get that fixed cause next thing it's going to stop working it's goig to be the entire motherboard.. and we don't want that to happen.. right?
