How do I clean the brush area after using my Pro Heat?

The brush or brushes (depending on your model) can be removed if needed. Routine cleaning should just require removing hair and debris from the brushes and wiping the area around the brushes.
There should actually be very little hair or debris around the brush roll if the carpets are thoroughly vacuumed by a properly working vacuum cleaner before being cleaned.

No suction in hose

Remove the machine side of the hose--is there suction at the machine? If so, run a broom handle or similar through the hose to dislodge the clog. If no suction at the machine, you may need to fish out debris with a hooked stiff wire from the port. Remove the bag and examine the port area underneath for similar clogging. Finally, check the brush area underneath the machine bottom plate for more obstruction. Also, check the brush assembly for debris accumulation. Remove the drive belt and check for free turning of the brush. If turns hard, remove the brush, clean the bearings and roller pins, then apply a small quantity of light oil like 3-1 or sewing machine oil. Hope this helps!

Roomba keeps saying "Clean Brushes"!!

Have you made sure the brushes aren't clogged with thread and hair, and that the brush bearings are still good?

1) remove the brush guard.
2) remove the brushes
3) remove any hair or debris using the cleaning tool

4) replace the Roombas brush bearings

5) replace brushed and brush guards

If this doesn't work then, try the following:
  1. Power off the Roomba.
  2. Remove the dirt bin.
  3. Place the robot upside down on a flat, padded surface.
  4. Check for any dust or dirt obstructing the Cliff Sensors (with Roomba upside down, the sensors are located in the four rectangular areas just inside the edge of the front bumper).
  5. Next, press the front bumper in to make sure it springs back.
  6. Make sure both yellow brush caps are installed correctly
  7. Make sure the main brush and the flapper brush each have a yellow bearing installed correctly.

Hoover steam cleaner spin scrub brushes wont turn cant find belt

Two checks:
(1) Remove the brushes by pulling down on the two ends. Is the squaare drive pin present on top of one brush? It should be about 1/4 inch square, and two inches long. That connects the brush to the drive mechanism.
(2) Remove and clean the inlet filter. It is in a red panel, behind the brushes, under the cleaner. Squeeze the two panel tabs together, and pull down to extend from the base. Cleane the hair/debris from the filter screen.

How to remove and clean the whole unit

Start removing screws from around brush cover and back of unit. Usually all the screws are the same style/length but be sure to check while removing. Once you have all the covers off, you should be able to access all the areas that would be cleaned.

Brushes not spinning in Wash mode

take apart the unit at the top (Behind the cleaning fluid container) Inside there is a wire coming up from the motor at the bottom of the unit. This can come unlpugged no longer powering the scrub brushes. Simply slip the wire back on the plug.

To open: remove all visible screws from top half of machine. Remove the rubber mode dial by pulling off, and remove screw behind that. Pull the front off, and the power plugs are located right on the inside of the machine by the mode dial

I don't have any suction

finish cleaning, through the whole air path

usually, by the time that a large clog has built up in the narrow neck behind the brushes,
that is easy to find when the cover plate is removed,
some has also got into the fan impeller,
not so easy to see
and restricts suction
the fan housing is held on the front of the fan & motor with clips, it disassembles easily and the lint and such can be flicked out of the impeller
then the exhaust of the motor to the bag can be likewise cleaned
