Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-36HS420 36" TV

Unit shutdown immediatly then standby light flashes 7 times

Hi all, hope someone can help me out. I have a Sony KV36HS420, All was fine when I powered it off last night, this morning, when I went to power on, it Does teh click noise like it has power, I hear sound for about 2 seconds, then the unit shuts down. After the the shutdown, the Standby light on the front blinks 7 times. I found other post/site that mention this has to do with a high voltage shutdown. Is there a replaceable part a person with limited lectronic skill can replace? Or should I bring to a repair facility (Should it really be a Sony shop or any TV repair shop can do the wwork?) All your expert advice will be very supportive.

Sony Wega KV36HS420 keeps turning off mostly when commercials come on. The red light blinks 7 times what is the problem? Can I fix it?

The 7 blinks indicate a high voltage shutdown condition. The high voltage has exceeded 33000V. This is usually due to a faulty regulator in the power suplpy circuit. If you can solder you should be able to resolve this.

I'll look up the specific part and update this if you feel you want to try.

Let me know.
