Question about Singer Quantum XL-1000 Computerized Sewing Machine
I recently purchased a beautiful Singer 301A. However, I can't seem to get the stitches to stitch out smooth--- rather it bunches up and doesn't move smoothly with the fabric. I pull the fabric out only to find gobs of stitches on the bottom. I am researching the web for possible solutions. I bought the machine because of its great reputation for workmanship and long wear. Thanks Deborah I have recently inherited a Singer 301A I am using 2020 needles and have taken the plate cover off to try to repair the priblem but the bobbin case spins and hits the needle causing breakage. Do you have any tips or instructions on how to repair this?? Debbie
Do you have a book, refer to threading. This machine threads differently than most, threads like a 221 featherweight. Needle goes in backwards, and threads backwards. in wrong and you can have problems, also threading can cause your problem if you have missed tension or a thread guide. great little machine
