Question about LG 30FS1D TV

1 Answer

TXJ2066 Samsung full picture is fuzzy around complete perimeter of screen; difficult to read subtitles or any crawls at bottom or the football scoring bar at top of screen. When I click on my cable menu to show my choices, words displayed at bottom become somewhat clearer for the time menu is displayed, then reverts back when clicked off. Does not get better or worse for any length of time tv is turned on. Bought it used for $25, maybe that's why they sold it? I have original remote but that does not make it better when I choose the type (mild, standard, movie, sports, etc.) however, mild seems clearest. Owner's manual just seems to be how to work remote with TV and menu. Good color, sound everthing else - just fuzzy perimeter. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a sony trinitron 36in tv, the screen works fine, colours are all great, no flickering or random shapes at all, its just a little blurry around edges, especially small text, its very blurry and...

it is very easy you just need a very small straight edge screwdriver

you should try to adjust sharpness setting with on screen adjustment first

if tv is too old tube might be going "soft" and sharp focus might not be able to be fully achieved anymore

good luck

Picture is distorted appears to bend inwards

I am assuming you are talking about the horizontal, if that is the case and the picture bends in from the sides it is likely there is an electrolytic capacitor dry or leaky, usually easy to recognise, look at the top of all the caps around the horizontal section and see if you can find one with a bulge at the top, replace it, look around where the scan coils are plugged into the main board and toward the horizontal output stage area, there are other things that can cause the same symptom however, I have found that to be the main cause. It is worth looking at the primary power supply stage especially the mains cap ( the largest capacitor there, usually 250v or higher,) remove it,( oh a word of warning- discharge it first, just in case) look at the bottom and look for leaks. if you have a cap tester, it will save time, if you can use and own a oscilloscope, look for ripples in the mains...hope that helps Phil

User Manual OR how to adjust the picture settings...Picture on TV is Cut Off

Normallly, if the picture size button on the remote for the television does not achieve the desired affect, then, a cable box or a satelite box is where the change needs to be made.
For example:
A Motorola Cable box needs to be set up to go to a wide screen or zoom when an analog signal is detected.
Some Dish Network boxes have Size buttons on their remotes and also in their main menu.
It's difficult to determine the repair without knowing the types of the peripherals.
Hope this helps.

Picture slants right to left

Hope you have fixed this problem by now, if that tv is unserviced, I mean if nobody has ever opened it, it could be a problem with the positioning of your tv, just tilt the tv in different positions and find out the position in which it will show the right fit. If it is serviced, especially yoke is changed, this is rare, it could be because the position of yoke is not aligned properly.

Greeeting from Belize you are having a problem either with cold solder or a problem in the power supply those lines are hum bars due to a defected filter cap.resolder your power supply if that does not solve the problem then you replace the power supply you can get a power supply kit from in florida.good luck.also make check in the vertical section if you cannot do it your self take it to a qualified tech to resolve your problem this should cost you about $75.00. to get it fix.
