Re: How to open back side to inspect rollers

You cannot open the buttom part. You have to disassemble from the top piece by piece. It is very trickey. First remove the cover of the scanner. Then remove the scanner part. Be careful with the wiring. Now beginn to remove the part which covers the ink assembly. At this point you have access to the screws which which are holding the mechanisem to the buttom part.

Pls How do i resolve Primacy mechanical Error and is making an usual noise compare to the normal sound

When the printers make unusual noises and stop functioning, it is usually an indication of a physical problem with the printer itself. As an Authorized Service Center, there are a few things we always check for, including a dislodged ribbon motor gear, and a ribbon break-kit issue. However, these are generally not user-serviceable items. The one thing you can check for is if the cleaning roller has dropped out of its place in the card feed mechanism: you can check for this by opening the top-lid, removing the ribbon cartridge, and spinning the card-handler (inside, front). There should be a grey cleaning roller present, and the locale is marked as "cleaning roller". If it has come out, it will likely have fallen to the inside-bottom of the machine. Usually you can just invert the printer and it will drop out. Occasionally you will have to drop one or the other of the side panels to access it. Both the left and right side-panels have a release latch accessible when the top-lid is open (along the inside top-edges about half-way from front-to back).

All of that said, the Primacy printers came with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. As the first models rolled out in late 2012, yours is no doubt still under warranty. Contact a factory authorized dealer for help. If in the USA, we'd be glad to assist.

    Error code 917.00

Step Action 1 Turn off the printer and let the printer sit, powered off, for one minute. 2 Power the printer back on. 3 If the 917 error does not return on power-up, try printing a few pages. If the error does not return during printing, this may have been an isolated incident. Continue using the printer as before, but pay close attention to it for the next few days to see if the error returns. 4
If the error returns on power-up, as soon as you try to print, or re-appears at a later time, inspect the transfer roller. (Click the links in the steps below for images.)

    1. Turn the printer off.

    2. Open both the lower front cover and the upper front cover of the printer.

    3. Remove the toner cartridge and place it aside.

    4. Look at the transfer roller. Make sure nothing is stuck on the roller or wrapped around it. If you find any obstruction, try your best to remove it without damaging the transfer roller or knocking the roller loose.

    5. Make sure the transfer roller is not loose or damaged. If the roller is damaged, the roller will need to be replaced. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support or a local authorized service provider for further assistance.

    6. Spin the transfer roller. Make sure it spins freely.

    7. If the transfer roller appears to be fine, reinstall the toner cartridge and power the printer back on.

    8. Try printing again to see if the error message returns.

If the 917 error still will not clear, or if the error continues to occur intermittently, the printer will likely require service. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support or a local authorized service provider for further assistance. See Contacting Lexmark below for more information.

Lexmark t630 Left side of page is alright. Right 3/4 of the page appears to not be erasing the drum. You see 3 ghost images plus what should be there till its a black mess at the bottom. Have tried 4...

try this open both front doors remove the toner then slowly lower the upper front cover while watching the charge rolle rdescend from the roof inside the printer. make sure that this roller is decending level. once the roller is most of the way down with your hand put a slight upward pressure on this roller to check the spring tension on this roller it should be the same on both sides. also check the spring tension on the transfer roller. if the tension on these 2 rollers are the same on both sides then check the three metal fingers on the inside right wall of the printer cavity form damage. on the upper right charge roller arm there is a little brass or copper bushing a wire goes to this from the hvps to give the roller its charge. make sure the bushing is firmly in place in the arm and that the wire is firmly in between the arm and the bushing. its the same for the transfer roller on the bottom the wires come to the roller from the back side. i would also remove the fuser and inspect it ghost imaging usually means the fuser is under temp. one other thing is the toner drive its on the logic board side of the printer in behind the metal case the logic board is mounted in, this part in a way looks like the state of texas poorly drawn and is mounted to the main motor drive by 3 screws. this unit has a clutch assembly where it ingauges the toner catridge in this clutch there are 4 little white disc's these sometimes are dislodged from thier setting and this will cause irratic turning of the toners drum which can create some of these problems as well. pursuing these three things should take care of your problem.

Hp laserjet 6l pulling more paper through than it should. new roller not available?

Thanks to Dewaine Chan for providing these instructions on how to get at the separation pad

1). Open the printer cover and remove the Toner cartridge. Remove the two silver screws at the top of the printer (One on each side).
2). Remove the three screws holding the Back cover piece. Pull the back Paper Guide in the Up position. Use a small flat head screw driver to loose to two latches through the opening. After that, you will need to use the same screw driver to loose the latches holding the back cover in place. There are at least two at each side.
3). Remove the back cover after you have released all the latches.

4). Turn the printer over and remove the memory slot cover by press on the latch.

5). Open the front cover. There are two latches (one at each corner) at the front bottom. You need to gently release them. After that, you should be able to slide the cover upward and off.

6). At the right side toward the top, you will see a spring clip pushing a white latch in place. Use the needle nose to remove it.

7). Use the needle nose to slightly pull the white color latch and turn it counter clock wise to release it. Please note how it is put in place. Pull it out after you have unlatched it.

8). Move to the left side. Press on the two latches to remove the Clutch gear assembly and slide it out. Please note this assembly has two unequal slots.

9). Now you have freed up the Pick Up roller assembly, you need to slide this assembly out from the right side first. Fiddle with it a bit to get it out.

10). Pull the paper guide up upward to remove it.

11). Push on the Kick plate to release it and then swing it upward to slide it out be careful not to loose the spring.

12). Unlatch the separation pad clip from the back and lift it up.

13). Unlatch the Separation Pad and get it up to remove it. Replace it with the new one.

14). Use a small flathead screw driver to remove the two sub pads and replace them with new one.

15). Do everything in reverse order.

I read an on another post to use cork gasket material and double sided tape to replace the pad, and this worked great. You can buy a roll at autozone for about $6. I didn’t do the small pads, that is optional.

Replace the tray 2 pickup roller assembly

The tray two pickup roller is a roller in the front of the tray. Remove tray 2 and place it on a level work surface. Locate and open the cover that is
next to the roller in tray 2.
Pinch the blue latch that is on the left side of the roller. Slide the roller off of the shaft.
Then you can slide the new roller back in.
CAUTION When you install this roller, make sure that it locks into place. Verify that the
roller is correctly oriented, and that the round, black spacer next to the roller is correctly
positioned against the locking pin on the shaft.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
    Thanks, Joe

Hp laserjet1300 paper starts to feed the suddenly stops

I would suggest taking the Fuser out and inspecting the paper path for any small debris or paper remnants that my obstruct the path.

Aside from this, I could be the rollers themselves slipping, I would suggest inspecting them for any gloss or smoothness. A good roller should appear almost old-looking as in wrinkled and should feel rough. You can get more life out of old rollers by hitting them with a Brillo pad, though this is not a guarantied fix and can ultimately ruin the roller.

If the paper never leaves the tray, it is most likely the roller right in the front of the tray and/or above the tray in the back. Three, possibly, four are involved. It may be helpful to simply switch positions with the two, or three, that are identical. Their are only two types, and there should be at least two of each, but I am not positive of this.

Let us know what you find. Hope this information has been helpful.

I have a bottom feeder paper jam but cannon see the paper to remove

Most bottom feeder printers also have a roller system on the back of the printer that pulls the paper up and through. Usually, if the paper is not visible, it is jammed in that back set of rollers.

Look on the back of your printer. Is there a bulge on the back? Does it have a latch or obvious set of buttons on each side? Try to push or pull the latches to open this compartment. The paper usually is wadded up inside this.

Would like to help more but don't know which model of printer you have. Please respond and I can be more specific.
