Please explain steps to reset my network password to get my e-mail. I have a pop3 incoming and outgoing. I AM now the network person at a not for profit.

I had a network password set up by my web and e-mail hosting company. They gave me a arbitrary password with the option to change it on my own using a gui that links to the remote e-mail server.

I reset the password two months ago and several times in May had "brown outs" where the network password could/would not be recognized. I may have forgotten it but 1 of 10 times I got it right so I was good.

Now my network password is completely invalid -- I've asked the nimrod's at the hosting company to reset it one of the last times I was successfully able to send e-mail from Outlook -- and they did not reply. I did copy myself at an alternate e-mail, and still no reply, or confirmation they have reset the password.

There appear to be two different access points -- one is for the personal folders password I set up to differentiate my e-mail from the only other co-worker, and the second is the network password that keeps popping up like crack no matter what I enter into it.

The e-mail send/receive audit continues to show that my "network" rejects my log on credentials.

Please help if you can. Thanx.

I am using Outlook 2002 (not for profit, can't afford an upgrade)

The hosting company gave me an arbitrary user id password, and an internet portal in case I wanted to reset the password to something private -- a cPanel -- which may not be universal but that's what I accessed and used.

I changed the password - my understanding is ...possibly on the remote e-mail server -- so whenever I get into the office and start up Outlook, after being promoted to enter a network password.. I go nowhere fast.

Hi, assuming you mean the password to download the mail from your ISP you should simply need to contact them & they will usually reset this for you.

If you mean collecting mail from your internal mail server, that would be different depending on the mail software you are using - let me know & I will try & help further.

Sham

The host 'PoP3"means what

Make sure your password and server name are correct on the email account, and make sure the server you are useing for outgoing mail is a pop3 server. Your provider for internet services may not be a pop3 server on your outgoing mail, it may be a smtp server or something like that for outgoing mail. Check in your email account properties to see what your outgoing mail server says, incoming and outgoing can be different depending on your supplier.
