I've heard the term "expense ratio" referred to in terms of mutual funds. What does this term mean?

An expense ratio is how investors compare different expenses across different funds. The expense ratio is the 12b-1 fee with the management fee and any other fund expenses and then this total is divided by the average daily net assets.

How do i calculate ratio

Unless you are meaning something more specific, ratios are calculated through simple division. For example if there are 2 oranges and 4 apples, the ratio of oranges to apples is 2:4, and the ratio of oranges to the total number of pieces of fruit is 2:6. These ratios can also be expressed in fraction form: there are 2/4 as many oranges as apples, and 2/6 of the pieces of fruit are oranges. If necessary you can perform the calculation 2/4 = 2 therefore there are .5 (half) as many oranges as apples and 2/6 = 0.33333333333333 therefore approximately .333 pieces of fruit are oranges.

On your calculator you should simply need to use the division button to accomplish this.

A simple question - My new 42" LG tv is fine -

You should be able to change the aspect ratio to fit the size of your screen. This will be the 16:9 4:3 16:10 settings.

You can access these by going to MENU---> PICTURE -----> Select ratio that works----> exit out and watch TV.

IF this will not fix it you need to look into the signals being fed to the TV as sometimes they can have a funny effect on the output picture. Some cable boxes will alter the picture and then it won't come out right on the TV. If it is all inputs doing this tho then changing just the Aspect ratio on the TV should solve the problem.

Battery

Hi there. It appears that some electrical devise on your vehicle which is draining the battery. As a quick check, you should check absolutely every interior light is going off – the cabin lights and if fitted the following lights – luggage/boot light, glove box light, under-the-hood lights. I you are sure none of these have been accidentally left on you then need to have someone check just how many amps are being drained from the battery – this will give an indication of the ‘load’ that’s draining the battery and thus the offending/likely electrical circuit. Of course, it might also be the battery that is at fault, in that there is an internal short circuit within the battery. If you are able to look into each cell of the battery, if you see the water bubbling within one particular cell, then it probably indicates that there is a short in the battery and that it needs replaced. Again, have the Dealer or Fast Fit Center undertake a battery discharge test, this will quickly identify whether your battery is performing properly. Hope this helps, Scottech.

TV Turns off on its own

Just keep smack'in it around, it works for me. It is the 'protection overload circuit' taking over and shutting the TV set off. This is because it detected a short or near-short circuit somewhere. Most common is high voltage, deflection amplifiers and main power supply. It's pretty much a common fix for an experienced tv repairman. It might set me back in the ballpark of $200 - $300.
