Dryer does not dry

We have had our top loading dryer for about two to three years. This dryer never seems to dry the clothing. Even when I set it to "extra dry", it still is somewhat damp. It's very frustrating. Can you help please. Why am I paying for this help?

I had same problem. I constantly had to take the front off and push the reset button, sometimes 5 times in a load to reset the thermostat. I thought it was a faulty thermostat. I took the lint trap/cup out, removed the screw holding the large round white cover and was flabbergasted! The whole inside was stopped up with lint. Thourghly cleaned the inside and unstopped the completely clogged holes and replaced. Ain't the Internet awesome!

Lint can get past the lint scraper and glog the airway to the blower motor. This will increase you dry time. Review this links: http://fisherpaykelparts.net/partmanuals/DGGX1_US_96011-A.pdf Look at page 12, item 13. This piece has a mesh screen that can wear thru and allow the lint to escape the drum. I had this same problem. Go to this website and make sure you are working with the correct model. http://www.fisherpaykelparts.net/

We had the same problem with our dryer and the tech said that it wasn't drying because the vent hose was clogged and it needed to be cleaned. It is a safety setting on the dryer that keeps it from overheating. That is how many house fires begin. Hope this helps!

LG Dryer takes too long to dry clothes

Sure the outside vent is not clogged up? If so it will overheat and turn it self off and do a poor job of drying the clothes.

Also check and make sure that all of the heating elements are working properly.

The dryer takes three hours to dry a large load. It is almost one year old and it seems to take longer than it used to and the clothes don't actually get that hot anymore

Hello: I have a Maytag, do not know model # as I inherited the 5 year old model when I purchased a condo and it is now 7 years old. The front of it states Maytag - Dependable Use, Heavy Dtuty - Large...

I ALWAYS START WITH VENTING WHEN CALLED WITH LONG DRYING TIMES BUT I HAVE SEEN WHERE ONLY HALF OF THE HEATING ELEMENT IS WORKING, WHICH IS PRETTY RARE. A NORMAL LOAD WOULD BE WHATEVER THE WASHER HAD IN IT WHICH WOULD BE LOOSLY FILLED TO THE TOP ROW OF HOLES IN THE WASHER TUB. THE ONLY OTHER QUESTION I WOULD ASK IS IF THE WASHER SEEMS TO BE SPINNING OUT PROPERLY AND IF THE CLOTHES ARE GOING INTO THE DRYER TOO WET.

UN-ending Auto dry cycle

This is caused by the dryer vent being blocked and not allowing the moist air to be removed from the dryer. To confirm this. Dry a load of close in a timed dry setting. Set the time on a specific time and then start the dryer. Wait for about 5 min. See if the timer has moved. If it has then the problem is not the timer. It is the exhaust vent being plugged up somewhere. Moisture how the auto dry setting works. The dryer sences moisture and runs longer to dry your clothes. With the dryer exhaust vent blocked, wet moist air is comming back into the dryer and fooling the sensor into believing the close are not dry and runs for a very long time. It is not uncommon for this problem to cause a dryer to never shut off. Your dryer exhaust vent is plugged up with lint somewhere.

Is the dryer electric or gas? If electric, the heating coil may have burnt out. If gas, check gas supply and then gas ignitor. Good luck.
