I have both the manual and driver. I also have a firmware update to make it 1.10

It says Traveler but this camera was made under at least 2 brands from the company in China. Optimus and Traveler. Both are part number 16-3899 but are model DV-5040

Firmware Update **read instructions that come with it** I'm not responsible.

Push the reset button

This error indicates a cassette mechanism malfunction.
It happens usually when you don't operate the camecorder for long time
leaving the cassette inside and the battery attached.
1. Open the cassette housing and nock GENTLY with your finger tip
on the cassette cabinet (particularly on the position marked "push") until
the cassette is released.
2. Push on the right place (marked "push") to close and then close the
cassette housing
3. Operate the cassette (play, fast forward/backward).
Repeat the above steps several times until the problem is gone.
Advise: Remove the battery and cassette when leaving the camecorder
for long period without being operated, and store the camcorder in a
dust/humidity protected place.
Hope this can help.

No power for my XL2.

It seems Like You fried the camera, you need to either send it back to canon for repairs, or take it to a really damn good repair shop. Sorry man, buts thats all I got.

After a deep study of the manual there are two reset buttons. One on the remote (pg 8 #4). The camera reset is next to the tape eject button. (pg6 #25). Hope this helps.

Where is the reset button on this camcorder, Panasonic PV-DV203 Mini Dv? I can't find it. Also what do it do about everytime i turn the camers on it says "DEW DETECTED EJECT TAPE" There is no...

I haven't used mine for over 2 years because of the mildew detected warning and not being able to find anyone to fix it for me. I just found this on the internet and am going to try it when my battery charges. Seems this is a common error for these palmcorders... good luck! "When you get the "Dew Detected" sign on the screen, remove the battery, give it a good palm hit on the bottom where the battery sits. Hit it a couple good times, put the battery back in and voila it will work guaranteed! I thought it was dumb at first, tried it and it works, hell it works everytime. The blow dryer, plastic bag trick dont work because its an electrical error, not actual dew."
