Possible reasons why the drive belt won't stay are : the belt could be old or worn, you have the wrong size of the
belt.
Also check and verify the pulleys are the right size and properly aligned.

SOURCE: manual craftsman band saw

I just went to Sears.com and then to Sears Parts Direct (down at the bottom of page under Craftsman tools) and typed in your model number. You can look at this manual online. Good luck

SOURCE: Band Saw Blade won't stay on

A lot of the larger band saws, and I don't know about your particular model, has an ajustment on the bottom wheel that tilts the wheel in order to track the blade. It is right at the axle and tilts it from there.  If the back guide is a roller bearing I woud think you would want to roll all of the time.  If a solid bearing block natually a small space where it  will not hit is enough.

Just go to a well equipped hardware or auto parts store. Take the old belt with you so they can find an exact replacement. Good luck!

How long is the saw blade on a 12inch band saw

The manual says that it will support blade widths from 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch. You can use 80" or 80 1/2" band saw blade. I got my band saw blade on sawblade.com . I like them .

I am Looking for a miter gauge (which is an accessory) for a old craftsman model 113.244512 band saw. Is there any around out there?

You may look up to ebay or search on google. I actually order band saw parts with www.bandsawparts.com but I think they don't have the miter gauge for your bandsaw model.

My band saw (craftsman 12" tilt head) stopped

Hello'
I have the exact same saw. It sounds like the key stock came out of the pulley attached to the lower wheel. I will give you a quick rundown.
-unplug saw
-you will have to lay the saw on its side so you can remove the motor and drive belt.
-there are 2 seperate pulleys , the one connected to the motor and the one connected to the bottom wheel.
-loosen motor nuts and remove motor, pay close attention when removing motor 3 of the 4 studs have sleeve like spacers.
-once motor and belt are out of the way check the pulley on the bottom wheel,my guess is that the key stock came out and the pulley spins freely.
-loosen set screw, replace keystock and tighten.
-NOTE the keystock may have came out of the motor pully instead, check.

Now this next part is real important.
-once you get it figured out and are ready to put everything back together the 2 pulleys must be perfectly lined up, use a flat ruler, using your eye will not work.line the drive pulley up with the lower pulley. ( the pulley on the motor has a shoulder on it so when it is pushed towards motor it will be set in the right spot) .

It is either the pulley on the motor or the wheel that has lost its keystock.

It should be a easy fix,Good luck
