593ms? Does that mean minutes, or milliseconds?

Well... If "minutes" the case, then you've likely filled up your player already. (2GB players don't hold too much music.) Delete some songs and try adding music again.

I put music on it before with no problems but now i try it the same way it says error has occured. I tried to format it and it said this disc is write protected. I used medimonkey and windows media player...

The memory card may have become corrupted. Also the little read/write protect switch may have been enabled which is located on the card itself. Also as a final note depending on how much music you put on it it may be full as 2GB is not that big in space. For example an average music album is about 160 MB and that give you around 15 full albums to give you an idea of what 2gb can hold.

Trying to add storage space unable to add music with new mlcro sdhc 8g memory card. mp3 player says music wont fit.

The Sansa e-series works with microSD cards. While microSDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use microSD cards, 2GB and smaller.

First of all right click on that drive and go properties and check the space available - if its 2gb then :-( but if you find the same space like utilized and free space then try the same device in different computer and possible with different OS like xp-3 or 7 and cross your fingers ..

Hi,

it seems that your player are corrupted.

My pc wont let me install new sandisk 2gb mp3 player

On your sansa, go to "Settings" then System Settings" then "USB Mode," then change it to MSC, if that does not work, try the other modes, just in case.
Hope this helps!

Had this same problem. You need to lock turn off the player. put it into the locked mode and hold down the middle button before plugging it in. Then back up and reformat.

I can help! The mp3 player's are only built by standard specifications and they are only built to work with 2gb sd cards at the max. so i suggest using the 2gb sd card or buying an mp3 with more memory space.

Sansa e250 using micro sd card

Go to the knowledge base on the Sansa site and find this (chances are you have an SDHC card in an incompatible unit):
Sansa e200
 - verify the version of the player.  To check, go to SETTINGS > INFO

For 01.xx.xx firmware (e200 version 1) - up to 2GB microSD cards
For 03.xx.xx firmware (e200 version 2) - up to 16GB microSDHC cards
NOTE: Firmware is not interchangeable.

Sansa e200R - up to 2GB microSD cards

Sansa e100 - supports SD cards up to 2GB
