If you are looking to wipe out everything, you can simply reinstall an operating system on it and choose to repartition and format the drive during the installation process.

You may be able to purchase recovery disks from the manufacturer or you can just buy an OS disk and use that to reinstall your system. When prompted to select a disk partition to use to install the OS, first delete any existing partitions and create a new partition (normally you would let it encompass as much of the disk as it can support), then select he new partition to use for the new installation.

My lap was very slow so I used my recovery cd but no. 1cd had a scratch that I didn't notice it wiped it out but wouldn't reboot what do I do ?

Contact the manufacturer and order boot disks from them. That or you have a chance to start fresh and put your own OS on your computer now. You've wiped your hard drive though and likely wiped everything all together. You could take it in to be checked and maybe your personal date could be salvaged, but these services typically aren't cheap. Good luck

Advent 7211 recovery disk needed

Well, bro! your question is too simple, why do you need yo recover disk? Did you delete or formate some important files in the disk? And the most important is that have you save new data to the disk, which will have an effect on data recovery. OK, if you need to recover disk ,you can ask help for some data recovery program, such as Recuva, which is without paying, but it just can recover about 60% data, maybe you can choose other one, know more here: http://www.card-data-recovery.com/

My Dell Inspiron 6400 (Windows XP Home) won't reboot. It's giving me a "Loading PBR for descriptor 1 ... done" line on a black screen. What can I do to fix it. Can I salvage my content / files

Before you use the Recovery CD you need to backup your data because to restoring your laptop will wipe your data off the hard disk.
To backup your data when you cannot boot up your laptop, remove the hard drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter. Connect this hard drive/USB adapter into the USB port of a working computer. The computer will see it as an external storage device, you can then open the folders and backup your data.
You can then fit the hard drive back into the Dell laptop and boot up with the Dell recovery CD to reinstall Windows etc.

you can reach recovery mode by first shutting off your computer. 2 turn it back on and as soon as you press the power key start tapping f5 constantly and your screen should go into safe mode. you can the put your computer to recover or set it back to an earlier date and time. hope this helps.

My rebooted my advent 4211-b netbook to factory setting by the tech guys on the netbook but now my netbook wont start up, it says the window boot configuration data file does not contain a valid os entry

Welcome to Fixya

Error means the boot files are missing or damaged. Try to restore the computer using the disk that came with it instead of using the recovery console.

Thank you for using Fixya!

No recovery disks F8 gives 1 option full destructable recovery, and that dont work.

Maybe to use the recovery you need to press F12 or F10. Reguraly when you press F8 is use to: reboot, return to OS choises menu, safe mode, etc... but never to recovery option. Check the PC/Laptop owner manual. In some cases you need to press Ctrl+F12/F10 or Alt+F12/10.

I was to reboot/get into recovery on my advent 7087 f10 doesnt work!

There are two ways to start the recovery -Restart your computer. Then Press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting System Recovery" is displayed.
second one is
In Windows by clicking: Start / All Programs / System Recovery / System Recovery.

Reboot an advent notebook to original settings

the computer shoulda came with a disk and that would be your operating system disk so put it in, then start your computer and if it doesnt boot to the disk, then hit F2 and change the boot options and make it boot from the disk and so when it does boot, then thats when u can reinstall windows back to factory settings but i dunno about advent notebooks. in HP tho, u can do it from the start menu cuz the reinstall settings are already on your computer so ya dont need the disk

I newly bought a fujitsu laptop

If the laptop is new and won't boot, either take it back to the place where you got it, or else put the recovery CD in the drive and try to do a full install using the recovery CD. It sounds to me like you have a used or ex-demo laptop that someone wiped by doing the first part of an installation process to unpartition and then repartition the drive to wipe all data. Try rebooting to the CD recovery disk and installing a clean OS.

Good luck...
