Re: Hotkey mode

This just worked for me. Using your PC keyboard, boot up to the PC first and then power up your mac. Hit the scroll lock twice and IMMEDIATELY hit enter. You have to go fast- click-click-click with no hesitation and it works great. I still can't toggle the hot keys to set up my mac keyboard, which I prefer using, but I'm assuming it takes the "right" timing on the keys. I'll keep trying.

Good luck!

Re: Hotkey mode

Toggling between the computers using the GCS632U? All you have to do is to quickly press the Scroll Lock button twice.

Holding down the Clear key and the minus sign, that is for invoking the hotkey mode. These steps should be done if your keyboard does not have a Scroll Lock button.

I have this switch hooked up to my PC and Xbox 360.. everything works correctly, however when this was given to me.. it had no instructions of sorts.. how do I switch the inputs?

Press the Scroll Lock key twice to toggle between the two machines. (Either the right or left scroll lock key will work) .

There is also an auto-scan mode which is accessed by pressing the Left Shift key and then the Right Shift key within about 0.5 seconds. This shows the screen for each machine alternating at a set rate until you press the Spacebar. The active screen when the spacebar is pressed becomes the active manual.

The manual is available at: .

I hope this helps.

My iogear KVM switch will not toggle between machines

Try following the this link and see if it helps. It helps to explain how to connect the keyboard to the KVM since the keyboard port is the only port that will recognize the port switching commands.

Cannot invoke hotkey function to switch computers .Directions say use num loc key plus minus key and release num loc but this doesnt work.

Make sure your keyboard and mouse are plugged into the correct usb slots on the switch. One is labled for keyboard, and the other for mouse. If you mix these up, those hotkeys will not work! :) Also, a much better hotkey for this switch is to tap scroll-lock twice. This automatically switches, so you don't have to hit multiple buttons.

IOGEAR KVM gcs632U. Set up notes that to "toggle" between PCs you press SCROLL LOCK twice. My keyboard has no SCROLL LOCK so to change you are supposed to press NUM LOCK + "-"...release "-" after 1...

OK well usually in the "Setup" you can "Assign" whatever keys you need, so can't you change the keys used to what you have? ALL Keyboards have scroll lock, it is probably just "Hidden" for instance I found one accessed via pressing a Blue Fn Key and then F12. Look carefully for "Other: small writing on keys.

I have an iogear usb kva switch connected to two PCs (one desktop; one laptop). It used to work fine with a wireless keyboard (HP), but after I replaced it, it stopped allowing me to switch between PCs...

Hi ther. make sure that you connect them to the correct port. If using a wireless keyboard, connect the receiver to the keyboard port. check underneath for the keyboard icon. Make sure that the receiver is connected to that port.

Problem with KVM switch and Vista

Your problem has nothing to do with the Operating System (Vista), it has something to do with the brand of your computer. I have similar problem before, I have Vista (Dell), but the time I connected another Vista (Sony Vaio), everything worked correctly.

This is what you need to do:

1. You have to make sure that you are using a standard USB keyboard and mouse.

2. Connect first the keyboard and mouse directly to the Vista computer to see if the USB ports of your computer are working properly.

3. You may power cycle the KVM switch by disconnecting it from the computers (including the keyboard and mouse) and leave it disconnected for 2 minutes.

4. Reconnect everything after two minutes and then reboot the computers.

5. Try using different USB keyboard if problem exist after power cycling the KVM switch.

Mouse and keyboard not recognized on second computer

Solution for the mouse. I have 8 KVM's. Most of my computers work with the KVMs. On 1 inland KVM the logitect and Microsoft optical mice do not work on one computer (but work with the other computers). They both are USB. I hook them up with a USB to PS2 adapter. If I use a ps2 ball mouse connected to the KVM the mouse works. All the Mice work if I directly connect them. Since I do not want a ball mouse I got a Frisby optical PS2 mouse. It works with all the computers on the KVM's.

I do not have a solution for the Keyboard yet. 1 computer (ASUS MB) on my trendnet or belkin 4 postion KVM does not recognize the keyboard.

Belkin (F1DK102P) 2-port KVM Switch freezes

We have the same model and the same problem. The scroll lock combo did not work for us. You need to press Ctrl, Ctrl then up or down arrow.

The manual was a load of old Tom *** as it did not mention this.

There was problem at one time with IOGear KVMs not working correctly with the USB chipset on the Dell motherboards. This problem was resolved by using a USB hub between the KVM cable and the computer. The user could take the USB portion of the KVM cable and plug it into a USB hub and then take the USB hub and plug it into the Dell computer. That should help with the problem.
